I agree, this is a decent article, but I expected it would be something different. I’d say the most science fiction writing, at this point in time, is being consumed in the form of scripts. There are books that do very well, but it’s not until they get onto a screen do they have relevance for most people.

It may have been fun, but in story & character development terms, it was a train wreck. Avengers with all its bloat held together far better.

Typo: for Animated Feature it should be “When MARNIE was there.” An amazing, beautifully lyrical, and nuanced film from Studio Ghibli. The also amazing film Inside Out will blow it out of the water.

Filming-wise (the other sort of shooting) having both guns point to the right of the frame is confusing for the viewer. He broke the shotgun, and also broke the axis of the frame.
