Well said. I feel like radical Right quietly rose to power while the Left was consumed with in-fighting over issues like "What exactly is Rachel Dolenzal?" I feel like political correctness has kind of become the albatross of the Left, slowly draining the life blood out of the movement by creating endless infighting

I really like Maher, but I will say that, years ago, I watched a Jon Stewart interview where he really tore into Rachel Maddow. I think it may have been because her show format really copied that of programs on Fox News. I could be wrong here. The point is he really grilled her. He also used to mock Keith Olbermann

She never came across as a fan, or someone that was even remotely interested in dissecting the show's characters and themes. The reviews seemed really torturous for her to write from what I recall. It was just all-around unpleasant. She got into all sorts of spats with the commenters, and called them out for being the

From what I recall, the initial reviews caused the most anger because she almost immediately seemed to get bored with the actual plotlines of the show, and instead opted to concentrate on issues more personal to her, such as White privilege. The big issue was that The Leftovers was a very complex show, and you could

Yeah, she was basically a troll in a critics clothing. She also apparently had a touch of ADD. Remember how she couldn't keep track of anything that was happening in the first season of that show? It almost felt like she was getting angry at the show because she couldn't figure it out. They should've trotted out old

FUCK.

Her Leftovers reviews were the laziest pieces of criticism I have ever read. They were just attrocious, and seemed pretty out of step with the quality I was used to on here. She really got demolished by the commenters for her garbage though. I happily piled on. I remember looking her up on Twitter and seeing that she

They had a great supernatural mystery from the start (the departures) and I think they figured out a way to wrap that mystery via Nora's explanation/lie very well. I could have done without a lot of the unexplained added on supernatural occurrences though. The best episodes always seemed to center on single characters

The one thing I really learned from The Leftovers is that never getting into Lost was apparently a very good move on my behalf. I like that they at least tossed the 2% alternate reality out there as an explanation for where the departed went in this finale. Giving Kevin powers to come back from the dead kind of jumped

Laurie's episode was definitely better than this one IMHCO. Now that episode was A++++ TV.

You could be right about that, but they would have had to do a whole separate shoot in the U.S. at the season one location for one episode as well. That could have been pretty costly for a season that they were probably pretty lucky to get. I doubt Game of Thrones money was getting thrown at this.

That didn't even cross my mind at first. Nora, Nora, Nora… I still think she was telling the truth. There are a lot of skilled adult liars on this show though.

The problem with Pollard is that he can actually sing.

The arrival of Peterson in Reptilicus is pure joy. He is an MST3K Halloween costume waiting to happen. That "Peterson come here and drink this" joke in the lab just crushed me. Him and the monster are perfect MST3K fodder. The jabs at the latter reminded me of the glory days of Gamera…only better. I really like the

EHHHHHHHHH…

I dunno if more blame should be hurled at the writers, but Jay and Taran were really a pretty massive letdown during their time on the show. There were some really REALLY piss-poor years while they were the two main male stars. It kinda makes one wonder how many of those ideas Jay should actually have been rejecting

I would have been fine with quietly burying the history of that era of the show. Besides the actual film segments of course…which were actually some of the best!

The majority of the Joel-era ones were at least bearable though, primarily because Dr. F and Frank were actually entertaining…especially the latter who (like Gypsy) was one of the shows hidden gems. The Comedy Central ones also showcased Joel's wildly inventive imagination. The Sci-Fi era stuff seemed more like bad

IT (THEY) STINK(S)!

The fact that Bobo and Observer will stop by is actually the first bad news related to this project. The post-Comedy Central era host segments were absolutely awful. Kudos to Joel though for inviting those guys to the party…even though they did refuse the invitation the first time around.
