There are offshoots for China, NK, Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, and Afghanistan. NK is understandably much smaller than China and the Soviet Union. But my point is that the ideology itself didn't kill them.

Oh really? What phone/ROM?
I wish "mark as read" was an option. Same with text messages and missed calls.
That's exactly right.
It's not incorrect. Language evolves over time. Deal with it.
No, I think what he's saying is that NFL Network et al. will just say, "if you go with this model, you don't get our channel. Good luck getting customers."
The problem I see with the a la carte model is that it makes it too hard for new channels/shows to compete, because I am less likely to take a flyer on a new show if I have to pay for it first.
I don't get the "ideology" branch. How do you die from "communism"? Are those duplicates of deaths in other categories like war and famine, or are they not counted under those more accurate categories because the war and famine happened under communist regimes?
I would seriously rather deal with the spam than switch to that horrible new format. Unfortunately, that change, like death (article reference), is inevitable.
ANTP's widgets don't look as information-rich as iGoogle gadgets, and it's only for Chrome anyway. Firefox has faster cold load times and better extensions, and there is a 64-bit version, so I use that. Netvibes looks like a total piece of shit.
#or the common word that leads to a bunch of completely unrelated updates.
The posts would start minimized so you can just scroll down and skim, and expand the threads that are actually interesting. If there are a bunch of short posts, you could fit 10+ on a page. This way you can only fit 2 on a page no matter how long the posts are. You can't skim at all. Ain't nobody got time fo that.
Those alternatives appear to suck. They don't put much (if any) actual information on the screen. I don't want rows of buttons on my new tab screen, I want information-rich widgets. This isn't iOS.
Feedly doesn't have a back arrow, and the p (previous) hotkey doesn't seem to work correctly for me. The Old Reader looks promising, but their import feature is down right now. I guess I'll keep using Google Reader till The Old Reader gets freed up.
Apple only, too bad for me.
Why would you want buttons to movie times and weather reports when you could just have the movie times and weather reports right there when you open a new tab? That's what iGoogle is. Are you still on dial-up internet? It's a shame they are killing it off. I don't want to switch to my.yahoo but it's looking like the…
Tensions mount between Virginia and Tennessee, Kentucky and West Virginia as they thicken their borders.
The hate is because you can't scan comments with your scroll wheel. You have to constantly click click click. It makes it more difficult to find good comments. I'm not a fan of the two-column layout in this or the previous version of Kinja either. It should be a single column, endless vertical scroll.
I totally agree. I have 8 pages of apps, and if I know I need to get to the end, I have to swipe left 7 times on a horizontal app drawer. With a vertical app drawer, I can just do one hard swipe and I'm at the bottom. Win.
