No, I would say that I mostly disagree with PersnicketyPants on that particular comment, but I understand their argument because human beings are largely irrational and not very bright. Then I’d move on.

Ya, that is the stupid thing. The budget AND run time could have been EXACTLY THE SAME had The Bells and The Darkest Night had 30 minutes shaved off of it and every other 55 minute episode returned to 45 minutes.  That is an extra 1:45 of run time. Aka about the perfect length for two full episodes. No extra cost.

Yeah, time and budget is a bit of stretch as apology when the fans and HBO  wanted up to 7 seven more episodes of normal length, thought a lot of the episodes was too long, the pacing to dense and a couple episodes had a million extras filmed under expensive circumstances.
