With respect, I find the idea that Arya Stark as some sort of avatar for life quite a leap from the source material and even the show itself. She defeated the night-king because the writers tried to add excitement by subverting expectations, rendering every other character useless and unimportant in the overall

Dang. If only the writers had thought about Arya’s character as much as you have.

But instead of completing her kill list, she chose a new adventure.  the showrunners forgot that was a plotline that they had established and dropped it completely somewhere around season 5.

Bran did surprise me at the time, but less in retrospect. GRRM’s original plan was for Jon, Arya, Bran, Dany, and Tyrion to be the main characters, so it won’t be a surprise if Bran is the book-king, too. D&D are a couple of meathead bros who signed on to do a fantasy series even though they didn’t really want any

Far too reasonable of response, kinja fail

This. There’s no immediate trigger. Dany has a temper, and it would be 100% incontrovertibly plausible for her to snap if something happened at the last second that set her off. To simply see, “Oh yeah, they did surrender... No, I’d rather torch the city” it has no history. She didn’t massacre the Dothraki wives. She

But she *didn’t* finally lose it atop the walls of King’s Landing. That’s part of the problem. All the contributory factors took place over the preceding days. There was no major emotional trigger on the day of the battle. And that’s why it reads so poorly. If Drogon had been killed during the battle, or Missandei in

But the Targaryens who came from Old Valyria all those years ago conquered by being notoriously lenient with those who chose to support them, not by burning everyone, even the innocent. The Tyrells and the Tullys, for instance, are both in the positions they’re in because Aegon the Conqueror granted them their titles

Dany volunteered to fight a brutal war to save humanity. 2 episodes later she murders a million innocent people. You don’t think that was kind of a fast turn?

Right, not in her eyes. So, she would have burned the city of Astapor, whose masters were attacking her, and innocent people would have suffered for it. But she didn’t burn Astapor after it surrendered to her. She didn’t burn Yunkai after it surrendered to her. And she didn’t have to be talked out of those decisions.

“If you thought that turn on Game of Thrones felt rushed, surprising, or like it came out of nowhere...you haven’t been paying attention.”

Was The Hound really that consumed by revenge? He spent like 6+ seasons not working to achieve it. All his talk about killing Gregor seemed like faux tough guy talk.

We got a mega dose of characters acting stupidly and out of character. Jaime is just going to leave his main challenger to slowly die of a stomach wound? Arya spends most of the episode running around. Jon continues to be the worst military commander of all time. Dany goes completely insane. Tyrion keeps talking about

I’m not against Dany going ‘Mad Queen’ per say... but having it be done when everyone’s surrendered seemed like some lazy writing to force Dany v. Jon.

Man, these grey comments about workers not being able to handle the content of a game they signed on to make, way to miss the point. Exposure to material like this effects the human psyche negatively, blanket statement, end of story. Even if the extent of that damage is desensitization and is largely not at a

I think you're giving the show writers way to much credit for thinking they even care about the prophecies from past seasons.

Jon is finding dragon eggs in King’s Landing or somewhere close.

You get a star for correctly pluralizing octopus. :P

Personally I'd put that on the Worst list. It felt overly indulgent in a way that this show is usually not, or like it was shoehorned in to give them more footage to choose from when they put Dinklage up for awards.

A 6.7GB patch? For Odin's sake, that's the size of an entire game. Anyone still willing to believe Ubisoft didn't just shove this game out the door literally unfinished and hoped nobody would care?
