The frame rate could be an issue, actually, but it's more likely because of the TV. Many, if not most HDTVs have an interpolation feature that inserts "new" (read: generated) frames between the actual frames of the movie. Manufacturers all have their own names for it, but it typically increases the frame rate to 120

I'd offer to light your cigar, but you don't seem the smoking type.

@avclub-011d0b4fe6835bb3d37ef4e0ea713de6:disqus Nearly half of us have been practicing almost our whole lives!

I think there's a few things that suggest NWR should really sit on the issue until she talks about this with that therapist she mentioned:

I had to double-check what letter I was reading after the first writer described herself as a gay girl that cruised the "m4w" section of Craigslist. I doubt there are many self-professed lesbians looking for rough sex with strange men.

I didn't actually think of that side of things until you mentioned it; the "Safe, Sane, and Consensual" philosophy isn't just for the benefit of one half of the equation.

Williams plays the Moon, King of, thankyouverymuch.

He does good voice work. He had a role in the pilot for The Amazing Screw-On Head, which was (coincidentally) based on another Mike Mignola comic book. The series never materialized, but you can find the full pilot on YouTube; try here.

So many events in that film could've been avoided if the people involved just weren't that stupid or selfish or egotistical, but, well, they are who they are. I think Simmons had only two scenes, but they were both probably the funniest scenes in the movie.

So, I didn't get to see anything in theaters like I was hoping. Instead, I just watched a couple movies on DVD at home.

Some people just need an audience.

The Secret World of Arrietty is one of the few Studio Ghibli films I've been lucky enough to see in theaters. I liked it, although I think the voice actor for the sick boy was a bit affectless.

If you want more weirdness, nobody in the first movie seemed to have an issue with replacing parts of themselves. There were a bunch of tricked-out racers near the beginning and more than one scene involving tire changes. That would be like if you could just, like, replace your hands, man

@avclub-5c3b44401b674811b5e8088e1a24e7a5:disqus If you hit the "Like" button again, it should take away the like. It's always worked that way for me.

@Scrawler2:disqus:

When Kee said she was going to name her daughter Dylan, it took me a moment to remember the significance of the name, but, well, it got me a little.

So, I re-read The Dark Knight Returns after watching the animated version. I was curious how closely the animated version followed the comics, and the answer is fairly damn close. The animated version had to expand the fight scenes a bit, but other than some minor plot points nothing significant was changed.

I'm not your pal, pud.

I'm too lazy to trim every week, but I find my beard stays as close as possible to the perfect length if I trim it to half-an-inch every three weeks. Any shorter and it looks patchy, any longer and I have to trim more frequently. Is looking chiseled and trim a bad thing, now?
