For the life of me, I cannot remember. I lurked here for years and made a few anonymous comments back in the day as "Whitey McWhiterson". I think this place struck me as a good balance between low-, middle-, and high-brow and I eventually decided to register with Disqus to comment on Gameological and here.

I'm not your pud, pal.

Closest I've ever been to a "senior" position is around the end of the five years I spent working part-time at fast food between ages 15 and 20. I was a "team leader", but to be frank teaching people how to make sandwiches or take orders and not suck at it just wasn't my thing. Didn't help that the two locations I

Liked for using the word "metonymy", although I don't think it's a good example of metonymy.

"Cindy Gallop, a former high-flying advertising executive who is now the founder and driving force behind MakeLoveNotPorn.com, a website and movement designed to blow up pornography."

Cynical sounds about right. I like the comic overall, and I don't mind how it uses the talking heads for exposition, but the politics of it get a little unwieldy. I'd say the art and the writing are good, if not great, but the plot can be off-putting. Apparently, the only way Gotham City can keep its streets clean is

Overall, I liked Man of Steel as well, but the movie has a few really bizarre tonal shifts, especially after what happens in Metropolis. There's gotta be thousands of people dead after something like that, so what kind of scenes do you think should follow:

I really loved playing Bioshock Infinite when it first came out. For everything that's been said about the violence (and a lot's been said) the world-building is just top notch.

Last week, I watched the animated film (parts one and two) of The Dark Knight Returns with a friend of mine. It was pretty good; almost slavishly accurate to the original comics, as I remember them, but that means it has all the same flaws, like the weird strawmen and the politics. Those things aside, I think it's a

To be honest, I wasn't even thinking of that when I decided to play Portal. It's a neat touch and whoever voices GLaDOS does great, but I only remember her voice popping up a few times in the whole movie.

One, I forgot how much time it spent teaching you the basics. Considering how unique it was at the time, that's understandable, but at least the first third of the game is all about the basics. It's still better than most tutorials.

I got the impression that the Jaegers were a lot more fragile than what I expected going into the movie. Granted, given the scale of the things they'd have to be engineering marvels not to come apart under their own weight.

That's one of the few reasons I can definitively say I think Pacific Rim is a better movie than any of the Transformers, even if it didn't wow me like I'd hoped: the characters react to the plot rather than the plot simply being a vehicle for the characters. It might not be fair to compare a post-apocalyptic setting

Sometime in the last two weeks, I got Daft Punk's Homework, Discovery, and Human After All. Before this, all I had was Musique and Random Access Memories. All things considered, I like Discovery the best. I'm not surprised, since it seems most like Random Access Memories of the three. The other two are alright, but Dis

You're telling me you wouldn't be trying to get one in the Pink (Ranger)?

To me, it sounds like amusement parks and skiing: wonderful if you're there on a "slow" day, but crowded and exhausting if you're there on a busy one. Heck, just getting to the con sounds tiring.

Yes.

He'd never do much harm, but whenever he was captured the charges would never stick.

I'm pretty sure people liked Resident Evil 4's story because it was campy, and deliberately so. Then 5 and 6 tried doing the same kind of story, but completely straight-faced, and it did not work so well.

Last week, I watched Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, one of the more recent animated DC movies. It was okay, but slight. On the plus side, Kevin Conroy was still doing the voice for Batman, which was nice.
