That’s Maher by a fucking mile. NDT can be dickish, but Maher is just a dick.

Again, what do you mean by “an apu”?

Well, what you’ve written is pretty much the gist of the documentary.
This response is basically saying, “no, we absolutely cannot be faulted for adequately perceiving that change, see how badly that worked out in the hypothetical example we just invented to absolve ourselves”

Of course I have. What I’m saying is they should continue this trend. Al knew this was a sore spot and decided to prod at it. It wasn’t helpful; it was just petty.

Two Minutes Hate

First off, Kent Brockman won the lottery. Second, stop acting like Kondabolu has issued some sort of mandate for how the show must change Apu. He was asked about it in an interview, and he said what they could do is make Apu more upwardly mobile.

Yes. The reason is racism.

Except there was no lynch mob. The documentary came out, people wrote some articles and had some conversations, and it mostly died down until as episode aired that addressed the matter in a tone that managed to be neither funny nor insightful.

“My neckbeard hairs are quivering! There must be social justice afoot!”

The crux of the documentary is that: He likes the show, but he dislikes Apu. And I get that. you don’t have to love all art, or all things out there. You just have to have respect, and everyone is getting so entrenched in their attitudes they’re taking everything as a personal insult. It’s a show. Half the people that

And alt-reichers calling him a cuck and whatever new slur they invented for a Jew yesterday will RUSH to his defense.

The irony of you throwing a tantrum about other people’s feelings can be seen from space.

You’re coming from the perspective that the people defending Jean have ANY kind of stance.

I have yet to see anyone scream “Kill off Apu!”, except as a sarcastic response to the “suck it up, snowflakes” crowd.

For me, this has become less about Apu and more about the fact that the showrunner of The Simpsons is comfortable sharing an article from the National Review to defend his smirking contempt for fans willing to have a conversation.

So to answer the question... you didn’t see it?

The argument that Lisa was the mouthpiece for the writers’ shitty beliefs because she’s Apu’s friend is kind of insane, no?

The first angry neckbeard posted eight minutes after the article went up. I wonder if they have a Google alert set up?

Well done Al! You have truly mastered the art of digging holes deeper.
