Meetings about meetings in preparation for a third meeting. I've had two in the last week. I want to burn the office down and throw my co-workers through the glass windows.

Sounds like we have about the same palette. I wasn't a fan of the speysides either, I guess I just love a strong peatiness in my scotches that only the islays and some highlands bring.
"Guards, Guards!" is my favourite, my copy is autographed by Sir Terry. Hugely funny.
My solution to any awkward social gathering is always a double scotch on the rocks. Otherwise 2 fingers are all i every need to cure any ill.
Yeah, as far as single malt, for my money, Islay is the way to go... Laphroaig is, hands down, the best... But, there are seven other distilleries on the island. You should test each one. You know, to be polite.
Archaeologists have identified a remarkable piece of Neanderthal jewelry comprised of eight white-tailed eagle…
I not so secretly wish that Havelock Vetinari was a real man (who looks, sounds, and acts like Charles Dance), and was running this country. I think we'd all be better off for it.
It seems like it was. Either way, he should have had the option to chose to die at his home anyway. Everyone should. Alas, I live in country that will see the apocalypse before assisted death is made legal.
Terry Pratchett was an enormous advocate for the right to die with dignity, at the time of his choosing, while surrounded by those he loved. The BBC reports this wasn't a self-selected death, but I dearly hope it was on his terms.
*pins on a bit of lilac*
I'd love to see a live production of Going Postal. I watch the miniseries about twice a year. Charles Dance as the Patrician is perfect.
I have a couple I still haven't read. I feel like ive been putting it off because I dont want to finish them all and "close" the world.
I highly recommend you do. I remember the first book of his I read; it was Thud, and all I knew about it was that it had an interesting cover and someone on the back compared it to Douglas Adams. I read it, and within a few months I had every Discworld book.
I think the Ankh-Morpork set books are the best. I am not normally a rereader but I read all them all every few years. Sam Vines is one of the best characters in fiction, of any genre.
When I saw Rob's tweet early this morning it punched me in the gut.
As everyone has said, read one. Night Watch is a personal favorite.
But the elephants are crying.
Terry Pratchett taught me to love footnotes. A Terry Pratchett footnote could pack more wit and humor into a few lines of text than many shows pack into a season-long arc.
I'm actually just crying at my screen right now. Terry Pratchett was by far the sharpest and most comprehensive satire of our time. And he did it all with just words. Words he used better than almost anyone.*
Sir Terry Pratchett, author of the beloved Discworld fantasy novels and countless other bestselling books, died…
DO NOT cross the Echidna!
