I hope my comment didn’t come across as blanket Aussie bashing. There is a persistent element of dickheads as with any country, but my personal experience has been mostly awesome 👍🏼

I hate the strong douchbro, racist, sexist and homophobic current that runs through our country. I worry that, if it weren’t for our anti-authoritarian stance, people like Pauline Hanson and her ilk would be revered in the same way as Trump. Thank God we hate politicians too. Equal-opportunity haters!? *sighs*

Similar age then (18), similar age now (42) and same scenario. Thank god it was me, though, my brother and sister are a lot less resilient, and already carry their own scars. You take care of yourself!

My swim teacher used to say my butterfly stroke was more like “drowning moth” so I’d be flailing away saying “I’m prey! I’m tasty prey!” as well.

He’s clearly in shock, poor love. What I’m impressed by is that Fanning was shouting at him to go back to the beach, and Wilson started paddling his heart out TOWARDS THE SHARK!! What a great guy, glad they’re both ok.
