I’m fairly confident electric turbochargers will resolve that. I appreciate the build of an NA engine, but I prefer the powerband of a turbo. I have only had a handful of forced induction engines (1.6T in my current Hyundais, and Supercharged 3800 in my old W-body back in the day, and briefly, an XR4Ti) and strongly…
I know, right? Has he even seen the latest Toyota Highlander?
Most reviews compare the interiors favorably to luxury SUVs. If you can get a well-cooked steak for the same price as a hamburger, wouldn’t you?
“As a childless woman, I guess I’m not the targeted customer for this type of vehicle.”
Ugliest in segment?
Most people who go “WTF why are people waiting to get a Telluride?” are most likely those who have never seen one in person, and/or sat in one, much less drove it.
well good for them. i had serious doubts that people would be willing to spend that much on a Kia, but with longer-term financing and people focusing on their monthly payment rather than total cost, i guess a lot of people aren’t sweating it. Kia/Hyundai has worked hard for the improved reputation and good will they…
The Telluride has subjectively more attractive styling. Plus Kia pushed it hard in the press, so it got all the road tests and rave reviews, whereas the Palisade barely managed a byline in the “New for 2020" area of most car mags.
They probably sold it at that price within a month.
We waited about a month. Doubt if we would’ve waited a year, but like you said, we didn’t NEED a new car. My wife have 160k on her old one, but we could’ve driven it for longer.
I don’t know why I want that but I do...
I know I’m in the minority but I actually prefer the Palisade’s styling on the outside. In certain angles, the Telluride can look kinda “flabby” in my eyes whereas the Palisade just looks more chiseled and square. Also, I can get genuine leather, 8 seats, and 20" wheels in the Palisade whereas that combination does…
Once again for the automakers hiding in the back:
Are there people hellbent on a Telluride that don’t like the Palisade? The last few times I’ve got my Hyundai serviced the lot is full of Palisades, and there’s another one I drive by that is also well stocked on them. I tend to like the looks of the Palisade more but they seem close enough that I could go either way.
Also based on reviews, the new Explorer is not good. If I were in the market I would be picking up a Telluride without a doubt.
They look very Durango to me, but Ford should really be given the credit here. I honestly feel the explorer crowd cross shopped after the recent launch debacle and said hey, this Kia looks pretty sweet for the money.
The Telluride is awesome. It is a handsomely solid design without any weird aggressively crease-y gimmicks seen on almost every other design these days. Kia has shown it can be done - why is it so hard for all other automakers?
Torque is what you want in a DD, not high HP. 220 HP for the mazda 3 is practically in the FRS territory, except the Mazda has way more torque.
It does come with a manual. It’s right there in the glove box.
