Then you get a ton of people going “where’s your Gotham Knights coverage?”

Goddam but character modeling and animation is getting REALLY good lately. The clothes, the skin, the hair, the facial movements... we’ve come a long way since the days of Quake.
I mean, the actual trailer looked amazing. Hopefully since it’s a remake, and they’re working with some of the original team, they won’t be able to fuck things up too much.
Destiny 2 has a systems problem, but the fundamental gameplay is still unmatched. Once you get into the field, there’s nothing else like it. It’s also one of the best looking FPS games with a really interesting setting and lore. That’s why people still play it.
Zero indie games sell at the $70 price point. That’s AAA territory. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an indie game selling for more than $40, and they’re usually around half that price.
I think anybody who’s tried to play Boneworks on the Quest 2 has a real appreciation for how hard feet are to get right. Never have I seen my “own” knees so much. It’s like the game thinks my torso and head are some kind of trailer that my legs drag around.
Oh noes! Not artistic integrity! We wouldn’t want to avoid triggering suicidal ideation or PTSD reactions if it means an infringement on artistic integrity! Especially not in a game where the plot line seems to be “I’m trapped in a VR version of Disneyworld gone wrong.” I mean, think of the artistic merit of forcing…
I mean, if you’re swinging it edge-on, you can swing an umbrella pretty fast.

Agreed. My family has a lake house with a swimming dock almost exactly like the one described in the story, though crucially it wasn’t a free-floating dock. I think I probably read that short story right about the same time we got that house. Even though I knew I could just walk off the dock at any time without…
The fuck does this have to do with anyone’s ego? If I had a few million in the bank, I’d also probably want to get into funding cool projects. If you watch his more serious review videos, it’s obvious he’s got a keen critical eye, and obviously has a ton of experience figuring out what makes games fun, so this seems…
Pretty sure he said nothing of the sort, he’s just listing them as some of the great indie games out there.
Hey, look, another thousand shades of grey and brown. How exciting. I know a bunch of people complained that D3 wasn’t dark and gritty enough, but I’ll take the environmental variety of Path of Exile any day over yet more brown caves and grey ruins.
Oh, for fuck’s sake
I mean, it’s not like you won’t get used to it again if you keep playing a 30 FPS game. Every time I go back to play through Bloodborne again, the first hour or so is kinda painful as I re-adjust to the 30 FPS frame rate, but after that I stop noticing it... until I go play a 60 FPS game and go back to BB again.
I think the point was that even in the middle of a genocidal invasion, there will be SOME sex, SOME humor. Humans are well known for the urge to fuck in the face of a tragedy, and dark humor is a pretty common coping strategy, especially for military/warrior types. They’re not saying there should be orgies and…
I’m not defending the site, I’m pointing out the inherent contradiction in your position.
Yeah, I watched Zero, and then Stay/Night, and that was enough for me.
I guessed you missed how spent half the article praising all the parts of the game that were new, fun, and creative, and only criticized the parts that fell back onto the same tired tropes and mechanics shared by legions of other games.
