I see your point, but I always appreciated trying to figure out the nuances of a statement, or how it would be received. Like in your example with a joke, would the other person find it funny or cringe-worthy? Is it offensive? Does the tone of the dialogue seem appropriate for a joke? All these kinds of things.

Why would they do this, regarding not displaying the actual dialogue? I mean, part of the game is figuring out the right thing to say in order to get the result you want, and that requires understanding the nuances of whatever phrase you select.

DEATH TO THOSE WHO ARE MOCKING ME.

Shouldn’t stamina be higher for this one? Oh, and immunity. Also, quiet should be -6...

I agree, and furthermore it makes it more obviously retro. With the window frame painted in body colour (or black) it would look like a modern forward-looking car with some nods to the old 124. Now it looks like a retro remake of the old car like the modern Mini or Beetle.

Are these the new bronies?

That’s exactly what I mean. If Lucas had just confessed that he had only heard about parsecs as a measure within astronomy and assumed that it was a unit of time, nobody would have cared. Instead, he made this whole ridiculous explanation up afterwards, sounding like the kind of socially challenged kid in school who

My driving school had C30’s. I loved parallel parking in that one.

I think that whatever made-up explanation they give as to why they are white will make roughly as much sense as the claim that they are solar panels...

Partially due to gas prices and taxation when it comes to regular cars, but when it comes to small engines in sporty cars, it’s more due to the fact that the roads in many areas are amazing, hence cornering capabilities are considered more important than straight-line speed. I don’t think that fuel economy is

But different nations are strict on different types of emissions. You can have one country where your engine is doing fine with regard to soot and NOx, but releases way too much CO2. Then in another country you’re below the limit for CO2, but you’re releasing too much NOx. Typically, reducing one agent will increase

True. But all that’s needed would probably be mutual emission standards for North America and Europe (and possibly some nations around the Pacific). I’d guess that most of the rest of the world have lower emission standards than these countries anyway. If a manufacturer was designing an engine for a common set of

I wonder what the odds are. I’ve lived in Sweden for all my life (30 years), and I’ve still never encountered a single person who has a driving license but who doesn’t know how to stick shift.

The race class I’m planning a car for right now explicitly requires every car to have a working defroster system. I could imagine that the side vents on this car can help avoid foggy side windows on cold mornings.

Stuff like this is why I come to Jalopnik.

Not to mention that with a $350 console, you get the guaranteed ability to play AAA titles for at least 5 more years (or longer). Yes, it might not run on more than 30 fps, but for many gamers out there that’s completely irrelevant. If you buy a $500 or even a $700 PC, you will struggle to run any new games at all in

Yes, why would you drive at lower revs just because you’re driving a more powerful car? You still try to maximize your acceleration sometimes, right? I mean, I try to take my old NA Miata to 5-6000 rpm pretty much every time I drive it outside the city limits, and I don’t really see how that would change if I bought a

That suede, the way it fits and the stitching reminds me of extremely cheap suede jackets, and the leather shifting boot looks like something from a late 1980s luxury barge. The only thing that doesn’t look cheap in that whole cabin might be the seat belts.

Did the German version of the game allow you to invade your neighbour to the east in order to increase your maximum map size?
