Yeah, I was thinking something similarly regarding the wrapping paper for the burger. If you follow it's edges, you can see that it's a low-poly model with a crumpled texture attached (or possibly a bump map, I'm definitely not an expert in these things).

In a sense, yes! I don't think that I react as strongly emotionally to this as I would to a weird human face, but the effect of details being more noticeable when other parts look realistic is definitely there.
