It's possible to be silly and yet intelligent, though. I mean, May's character shows this pretty well. Doing silly things doesn't have to equal being a clown. Clarkson gives the impression partially of being a clown, and partially (paradoxically) of taking himself almost seriously. It's a very well-created character,

I occasionally watch 5th gear as well, but I prefer the sillier tone of Top Gear. What I'd want, essentially, is the motoring equivalent to James May's Man Lab (or Toy Stories), but with Hammond and preferrably a third presenter involved. That is, Top Gear, only without the boring orangutang.

I don't find him provocative or controversial. In order to do that, I'd have to take him seriously. I do, however, think that he's a complete idiot with a pretty childish sense of humor. I love the concept of Top Gear, but it would be so much better without Clarkson.

This is pretty high on my "best things ever" list.

But that was (IIRC) only with Hammond.

Yes? Do you know what the word 'most' means? 'Most of the planet loves to watch the show' means that there are more people watching it than not watching it, i.e. more than 50% of the human population is watching it. Saying that many people watch it is not the same as saying that most people watch it.

Aaand how do you go from that statement to the claim that 'most of the planet' is watching it?

Oh, sure, nothing about his personality otherwise. Just the 'doesn't seem like the violent type' that I was opposing.

Oh, I definitely agree with the punching. There are plenty of people in this world who deserves physical violence, and Morgan is probably pretty high up on that list.

They have? I mean, it's always difficult to know what's 'normal' or not when you only have one perspective to go by, but I don't think that I know a single person who has dealt a punch in his/her adult life*. I mean sure, at some point during their childhood, but not as adults.

Now playing

Well, considering that this isn't the first time, I would say it's the opposite. I've lived for thirty years now, and not even once have I been angry enough for it to actually seem like a good idea to resort to physical violence. The man is either struggling with agression issues or he's just the biggest diva in the

Like Hammond has done comedy shows with science in it, and May has done comedy shows with technology/gastronomy in it?

a) Most of the planet don't watch TG, as you probably know.
b) Even among those who do watch it, there are quite a few of us who still thinks it would be a hell of a lot better if they only kept the two moderately intelligent presenters.

They basically are just water guns for cars, aren't they? The most harmful way you can piss anyone off.

I'd argue that it would be harder to replace James or Richard, even.

Nah, just the boring, unimaginative, unintelligent bits of it.

I'm taking notes of these names so I can use them to confuse my future teenage kids as they learn to drive.

"Support" Gamergate? What, like, that they are in favour of doxxing and sending murder threaths? Or that they actively support the struggle for updated social values in gaming?

No, that's not what I meant. I think that every single person is this complex. If you try to boil someone down to just a few attributes, you will end up with a horribly bad description of that person.

I don't know. Let's say that I have a few hundred attributes if one were to count. I like cigars, video games, cars, a number of web comics, various fields of science, a few sports, certain books, art, architecture, funny captioned pictures of cats, some movies, some tv series, etc. Most of my friends share one or
