Is it possible you don’t see them going away because news publications are making articles praising loot boxes for being not completely morally bankrupt. You may be able to enjoy your games without spending money, but there are people with impulse/control issues, gambling addiction, etc. where it’s not as easy. But

Adding lootboxes to a game not originally designed to have them, for the sole purposes of pressuring players to spend more money, is doing them the right way??  This article feels like the microtransaction equivalent of Stockholm Syndrome.

Buying a game on launch day isn’t a “right”. He can simply wait.

I limit my game purchases much more these days. I try to have no more than two active games and try to buy a new one only after beating one of the active two. Of course, crazy low deals happen and I get codes for games sometimes, so I break this rule often. But I’m trying!

If you feel like games are cheaper and better a year later, maybe stop buying them the day they come out?

Bare in mind, Gibson is part of a sect of Catholicism that specifically ignores the reforms made during Vatican 2, one of which was to disavow the doctrine blaming Jews for Jesus’ death.

I mean the story happens in Roman-occupied Israel, who else was supposed to be there to beat Jesus (also a Jewish man) and remain in context?

The Roman centurions who beat and brutalize Jesus are presented in an even grimmer light than Caiphas and the Jews are. So if anything, this film is more anti-Roman/Latin than Semitic.

Penny Arcade over there with too real truth bombs.

Canadians! They’re just as horrible as everybody else.

My biggest belief, both in politics and film, is pluralism. I want lots of different options out there. So I’m fine with there being no “racism is still happening and still terrible” aspect of the movie, because there’s BlacKKKlansman out there the exact same year. *Every movie doesn’t have to share my politics or

Art vs artist etc. Your only comment about the film itself is that it’s highly fictionalized, which I don’t mind. Social Network was highly fictionalized along with other based on a true story films that are awesome.

Green Book didn’t make my Top 10 this year, and I was rooting for Roma, BUT...

You know what a lot of people really liked? The movie Green Book. 93% audience on Rotten Tomatoes (BlacKKKlansman 82, A Star is Born 80, Roma 72, The Favourite 65). It’s currently number 128 on IMDB’s Top 250: women gave it a 8.5, men an

$100,000 bond and the potential to face 3 years in prison is way overblown

Overblown?  He should receive whatever punishment his “attackers” would have if this had been real.

“I would never be brave enough to do what Jussie did. He put his personal freedom at stake and shined a light into some dark corners that need cleaning. In a way, I’m proud of him. Because it doesn’t necessarily matter that this event didn’t happen. It matters that it could happen. That’s the real issue here. So good

Well, it didn’t take long for his apologists to slither out into the light.

Counterpoint: Don’t let you kid yell “I hate you!” and set the precedent that verbal abuse is OK.

I know, right? It’s almost adorable how pathetically bad this guy is at his supposed profession.

Me: Oh look, another Barsanti article. You know what? I’ve spent enough of my time bashing him, so I’m going to bite my tongue this time. Deep breaths, Unnumbered. Deep brea-
