There is a delightful irony in the fact Biden and other Democratic politicians Carlson made a career of disparging are for curtailing the use and breadth of non-compete clauses.

Holden gets cut a lot of slack because Banky spends the movie being the absolute worst person he can be but Holden is by no measure a good person and ignores every bit of good advice he’s given in the movie.  He’s truly a terrible person and doesn’t seem interested in changing. Hell JAY even figures it out!

Yeah; I used to be frustrated with that ending when I was younger, because it’s pretty obvious the right move for Holden is to move on and just forget her past. Gradually, as I’ve come to realize that Holden’s just an utter douchebag, it does seem like what he would do. She can do way better with either gender anyway.

Yeah, I feel like a lot of people who dislike the film do so because they see Affleck as the hero, when the film is unambiguous about the fact he’s a dumbass.

Yeah, the fact that Holden doesn’t turn Alyssa is basically the whole crux of the movie. I’m not sure how someone could see Chasing Amy and not get that, it gets spelled out pretty clearly.

Which is totally fine I think.

That was the perfect ending, really, because despite being the protagonist, Holden isn’t the least bit heroic, and deserves his comeuppance.

Also, for the concept of “lesbians just haven’t found the right guy”, doesn’t the movie kinda point out that it isn’t true? At least in this case, Holden isn’t the right guy. In the end, Alyssa is with a woman. She’s still identifying as a lesbian, and/or is at least maybe bi, but def on the queer spectrum still. All…
