But would you really understand the elements on /r/soccer if you didn’t have someone to breathlessly describe them in intricate, faux-intellectual, often grossly exaggerated detail?

Jesus Christ.

Good.

That’s not even kind of a spear.

Nope. It’s actually the correct use of the word “fascist.” Yes, the word does get thrown around at people with whom the left disagrees. But in this case, it fits. This isn’t George W. Bush’s conservative White House. This is a group of people who feel they should run everything and everyone should bow down. It is

No. “Snowflake” is coded language. “Fascist” is not. If I call you a snowflake, it’s because I perceive you do be desirous of special treatment. If I call you a “fascist,” it’s because you’re a fascist. Like Donald Trump and everyone who supports him. They want an autocratic, right-wing system of rule, which is

You understand that you’re not quite saying “she was asking for it,” but you’re in the neighborhood, on the right street, and almost at the right address, right?

I was gonna count myself among those “good Pats fans” who somehow have a duty to hide themselves, but you know what? Fuck that. There are shitty fans of every single team in every single sport. There are a lot more of them rooting for Boston teams right now because they’ve all had some success over the last 15 years.

Holy shit, way to completely miss the point, fuckstick.

I think you’re bending over backward a bit to see it that way. If this were Haisley’s first post on the league, perhaps I’d give him some latitude, but as he so proudly pointed out, he’s the author of most of the “MLS Sucks”-tagged posts on this site. He’s all about making sure everyone knows how smart and

Your impeccable grammar aside, it also has a wealth of young talent from the Western Hempisphere, and while it certainly isn’t at the level of excellence as the most popular world leagues, it’s a very competitive league, which makes it compelling to people who enjoy sports. The NCAA Basketball Tournament has, at best,

No, it doesn’t. Pointing out “here’s a cool play from a minor league baseball game” is a vastly different way of writing than, “Kamara must be a monumental shithead if he is that good (in MLS)...”

Alternately, paying any fucking attention during your driving school classes might have helped too.

Thanks for chiming in, Senator Cruz.

This is a good comment and more people should appreciate it.

Never has a single dead horse done so much for so many.

Yeah, I learned (too) late in my pitching career that the backstep is basically meaningless as far as generating velocity. The only purpose it serves is to open your hips for proper rotation to the top of the motion, which you should be able to achieve with just a short step to the back/side.

Like I said to mavisknowsitall, there isn’t a lot of snap in his motion, and the elbow isn’t working that hard. It’s an incredibly repeatable motion, which is the reason guys like Roger Clemens never needed TJ (please don’t come back with steroids, because they have nothing to do with elbow ligaments).

At first I assumed that too just based on his velocity, but honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if he never needs it. Other than the curveball, I don’t see a ton of snap there. It’s a good, broad, sweeping motion. He’ll have arm trouble eventually just because of how hard he throws, but I don’t know that TJ is

Good God. First of all, those are tremendous mechanics. Other than a couple pitches where he seemed like he just wanted to get some more heat, he’s gliding through that motion like Glavine. And like five minutes in to the video, he starts throwing some changeups, which look downright hittable, but I’d imagine when you
