C'mon buddy….
C'mon buddy….
Was that the one with "I'm Afraid of Americans"? Liked that one.
I'm actually your father. Unless it's the Russian guy. Or the dude with the pencil-thin moustache. Who remembers?
I feel like we actually talked about this on another thread a while back. If it wasn't with you, I've definitely brought this up before.
Just youtubed Every Breaking Wave. Didn't remember that one specifically, but I'd definitely put it towards the top of their 21st century work.
Bits and pieces. I suppose I should give it another go, but pretty much everything I've heard out of U2 this century bleeds together for me.
Pop got a bad rep at the time (which has stuck with it, unfortunately), but the great tragedy of that album is that it's lukewarm reception killed the band's adventurous streak.
I revisited this album a few months ago in a fit of nostalgia, and while I do admire/agree with some of the band's politics, the album hasn't aged too well. The Johnny Cash version from the Unearthed box set is as good as you'd imagine it would be.
"I hear you singin' in the wire, I can hear you through the whine,
And the Wichita lineman is still on the line"
Huh, doesn’t it usually take until the Houston article?
Or London Calling.
