@PhoenixDog: The question was more along the lines of "why are ALL the black people in Africa that you see in the game violent savages"?

Kinda funny to watch the same mostly white gaming community (not kotaku's I mean the gaming community as a whole) that regularly engages itself in the most slurful, hate filled speach with extreme casual-ness on dozens if not hundreds of xbox live and PC games, now swear on their mothers purses that they cant

@Kobun: Not exactly a fair comparison, a game that came out 20 years ago that was barely midly popular then (most people had not heard of it) compared to a modern franchise game that hits all markets.

@PunkyChipsAhoy: There is a long history of whites killing "murderous negros" in America history. Sorry if history, and those 'pesky sensitive blacks' do not agree with your own ethnic sensitivities.

Here is a little help for those who cant understand why some folks would find this game offensive. Its not referring to Africa directly. During the Philipines war, historically the white Americans who fought in it likened this war and the massive killing of 'black' filipino's to killing africans/african americans

@hazelnut1112: Yea, and lets make a game where the white hero kills as many africans as possible. Thats sure not to offend anyone. Maybe the ones they cant shoot, they can hang, or tie to trees and burn. Lets all go with that, itll teach those silly minorities not to get offended at things that reflect horrible real

Just because its not racist to your "average white male suburban middle class gamer" does not mean its not offensive to "black/asian/native/not white/female gamer of varying classes".

@alchemisto: Keep playing. Sandal may be the most killtastic killing machine ever to be put into a game.

I enjoyed all of the Sam scenes. Its easy to forget Sam isnt the shut-in nice guy others see him as, he has his own rough past.

Yea...the main character looks badass, but hes still nowhere near SANDAL-psychorage-badassery. Im hoping he returns, as weaponeering and bloodthirsty as ever!

I dont know what to think of this. On one hand professors can be known for shoddy work and overstating their own conclusions.

What happens when the nanobots secondary program kicks in after you've ingested the pure water, taking over and destroying most of your higher brain functioning and forcing you to become grammatically incorrect political picketer?

Now playing

In Finland, Duck Tales you. (This is old, but never gets tired)

@tedknaz: True, but my point was more along the lines of "who goes to those places purposely", mainly because (as a guy whos been to most of them) theres nothing, comparatively, in those places worth going to. Also, aside from being on I5 and part of I90 for part of it, most of those roads are terrible.

Only a nutjob would go so far as to do something like this. The same kinda nutjobs that believe Ayn Rand's books to hold the secrets to life. Moral objectivity, relentless selfishness and greed, blatant prejudice, zealous atheism, accepting of violence to solve all difficult problems, and the kind of social darwinism

If the game takes place in 1912, wouldnt it be a 20th century death star?

In many ways, its unfortunate the courts decided the way they did. Laissez Faire economics didn't work before the depression, they wont work now. Then again, this court has said several times that money = Speech (Citizens united being the most known recent decision to these ends). Corporations have the most money,

As long as they dont play the "were only selling phones with Verizon or Sprint plans" Apple game, I'd pick one up with the quickness.

Could be interesting, or it could be another Independence Day/War of the Worlds.
