Having played it, you're spot on. There's talk of adding features via updates although there's already been talk of doing it by DLC so you're better of waiting imo.

There are sentinels that fly around and aggro on you if you do certain things like mine stuff right in front of them, attempt to blast open locked doors on certain structures or loot rare materials from the landscape. But they're just robots rather than intelligent life forms.

I used to love insanely hot food and tried a bunch of these sauces. After a certain heat threshold, they seem to use capsaicin extract to boost it up and they stop tasting of anything remotely nice for me.
