You were very caring. When "lambchop" went off the air I was surprised to find Shirley had been doing all the voices, and then annoyed my show was being cancelled just because she was dead. I may not have yet understood that other people were real. Or I was just an asshole. Hope I've outgrown it.

But "dramatic irony" isn't enough of a justification on its own. It's supposed to heighten tension, not create frustration. If DI makes the characters look like idiots, it's still on the filmmakers.

This was also my exact experience: I've never again seen a movie where the entire theater uniformly turned on it, to the point the entire crowd was heckling it and applauding each other.
