I have the exact same approach as DorianS and I HAVE played the game. I can definitely say, without spoiling anything that if you’re playing Akira as his own entity and doing what you think he’d do in a scenario, while Kawakami seems on paper like a good choice, when you’re in the moment it just doesn’t feel right.

God forbid someone have mixed feelings about something they still enjoy.

She already had the bunny outfit. Besides, bridal stuff doesn’t really fit her aesthetic well.

He was very obviously responding to the cooked vs uncooked weights...

Articles about EVE online read like news reports from a 1940s Space Opera. I love it.

“easily crank out” “two years”

I’ll take this a million times over before I’ll take anyone besides Nolan North playing adult Nathan Drake.

The Igor thing was super obvious, especially if you knew the reason they changed his voice in Japan, or had to wonder why they wouldn’t get someone to do a similar voice instead of going wild with it.

So it’s Other Space, but with more tired parody conventions.

And yet nobody bats an eye at Junkrat/Roadhog. I’ve got a great big shaker of grated shade to lightly dust people with when Roadhog eventually turns out to be his father.

I don’t understand the mentality behind this. If I drove 80 in a 45, I don’t blame the cop that pulls me over. If I shoplifted, I wouldn’t blame the store security that catches me. Doesn’t doing something illicit come with the understanding that you’re breaking the rules?

You’re right about the term malicious. I know shark attacks are rarely intentional in that regard, but once they bite in doesn’t their blood frenzy usually kick in?

I think that speaks MORE to their lack of malicious intent than anything, if mid attack they had the ability to go “Woahh, this isn’t a seal. Woah. Sorry guy.” Since I mean... compare that with the same situation with a shark....

“It’s literally impossible to see the whole story on your first playthrough, as the game’s time limits mean you’re constantly having to juggle and prioritise your social schedule. Even if you wanted to, you could never see or do anything the game has to offer on a single run.”

As the other commenters said, she’s absolutely a sex worker. She’s just not a full on prostitute, which would be the other company that I imagine doesn’t even bother with pretenses.

It’s worth noting that there’s nothing ‘implied’ about Kawakami’s occupation. Someone outright calls her a sex-worker and her response is “how did you find out?”

Home Movies reference wins.

Nah, I’m good.

Don’t even need to watch a trailer. Media.Vision for life.... Probably will watch a few trailers first just to be sure though.

This feels like the kind of adaptation where they need to give them some creative freedom for it to pan out well.
