you go into a court room and argue that you are not liable for hitting a person with your car because the only alternative was swerving across a yellow line with no car on the other side of it, you’re going to lose that case.

To be fair, like all cyclists, they also intentionally create hazards around regular motortraffic too.

Do the unicycles have licenses and registration?  If not, how are they legally allowed in the lane of traffic?  This seems like they purposefully intended to menace a robot car, record it, then catch all the clicks and profit.

Texas and West Virginia endorse this.

Very much this. A more accurate headline would be “a group of assholes circling a car cause the self-driving system to malfunction”

If they would have trained it based on Florida driving, it would have just plowed through all of the riders.

“Slow down” not on the menu? I suppose that’d to be expected if you train the AI model on US driving.

Talk about your Evil vs Evil stories. There is no good side on this one.

Try buying a 2-3 year old car instead to start and let someone else pay for the initial depreciation hit.

Queue up pedantic know it all commenters on this article.”

An engineer friend was offered a job at the Boring Company. The experience he relayed to me was this: they strung him along for round after round of interviews including a flyback to meet with the head honchos. The job would have required relocation to a higher cost of living area. They kept being evasive on salary

The only bad LEO encounter I’ve had since moving to Orange County was an off duty helicopter dude who took offense at me complaining (at the bar no less) about their incessant circling and calling for them to be grounded. Dude literally flipped out and went all A Few Good Men on me like he was fucking Airwolf or some

Yep, they want to max out the usage so they can demand more budget. In my part of OC they get used for traffic stops and other things where not needed. Traffic stops also require at least 3 vehicles on the ground it seems.

Oh, trust me. The LAPD has plenty of drones, too.

LAPD Helicopters were one of the worst parts of living in LA.

who exactly was this steam’s most anticipated game for?

The most glaring problem is cost. The nearly $53 million this cost the government could have gone into actual transportation infrastructure. Secondly, anyone who has to use a mobility device but isn’t ambulatory enough to stow it in the trunk of a Model Y is screwed. There doesn’t seem to be any kind of accommodations

What advantages does this present over a tram system in the tunnels?

Imagine trying to convince M.Elon that folks w/ disabilities need to be accommodated, & that it’s a LAW which he’s obliged to follow. ‘This isn’t for them, I guess, & no one who can afford our product is disabled b/c I don’t know any or find any to be worth my attention to determine that. Only my opinion counts, b/c
