Rumor has it that the driving factor in Cary Fukunaga leaving this film over "creative differences" came down to his insistence of keeping very graphic and erotic scenes of Beverly's father raping her. The scenes were so bad that New Line was struggling to get child actors to read for the role. Fukunaga refused to cut

What? They have been shooting the film since February and it only has a couple weeks left.

But then all you're changing are fight scenes? Would the average viewer not familiar with the comic even care?

Say what you will about Snyder's 2009 film but it was extremely faithful to the comic book (minus the changed ending). I don't see what this HBO remake could bring to the table besides being a modern day take on it. The 2009 film doesn't seem that long ago to completely reboot. I find it hard to believe HBO can make

Most directors will leave during pre-production, not shoot 90% of the movie and take off. Very strange.

The only other example of something similar would be Paul Schrader getting fired from "The Exorcist" prequel in 2004 after shooting the entire film. Warner Bros hated it so much they completely reshot the film with a new director. I wonder if Donald Glover will want to drop out now? Lord and Miller always seemed too

I'm really surprised how many people are shitting on this season in the comments section. I think "Veep" is still far more creatively strong than "Silicon Valley" is currently (which just seems to be stuck in the same gear).

Happy Madison movies made great money even when the reviews were shit

That won't last long seeing as both Tusk and Yoga Hosers bombed and received the worst critical reviews of
His career.

Yoga Hosers flopped. It had a $5 million budget and barely grossed half a million.

Probably Johnny Depp

Fuck Kathryn Hahn and Jill Soloway. They got Dino Stamatopoulos fired from "I Love Dick" for admitting to Hahn he had tried heroin before.

4chan has its decent discussions. It's all dependent on the user. I avoid /b and go on the TV and Film board which still can get disgusting and have its trolls but often times has incredibly interesting and passionate discussions about movies and TV, similar to the AV Club five years ago.

I brought up how unfairly people hate on Reddit. It's so specific to the subreddit and community you're in browsing the site. Obviously, there are some ugly subreddits but there is some great discussion about film, music, and hobbies going

They'd likely burn a massive bridge with FX and Landgraf if they didn't honor their two season contract. I know what you're saying and "Louie" gets a 'come back when you're ready' deal but FX went through the legal trouble of signing them all for 20 more episodes so they're kind of on the hook and risk losing a lot of

The Lebowski bowling scenes have become iconic cinema. That movie has gone from cult classic to mainstream classic in the past decade so it's odd how Hawley felt he could entirely lift the "Stranger" scenes. It just felt cheap.

The Coen "references" are getting to be a bit much. The bowling alley scene was even shot using the same camera set-ups and angles as "Lebowski". It starts to feel like they're just completely ripping off Coen films and not so much paying homage.

It's rather confusing that FXX renewed the series and locked the cast in for two additional seasons in Summer 2016, considering how many of them have taken off for network series. You'd think Olson and Howerton wouldn't have signed on for additional seasons knowing they were on their way out.

Why is "Veep" off but "Silicon Valley" is on? What the fuck?

Thanks for canceling the "Beavis and Butthead" reboot so you could play "Mean Girls" five days a week, MTV.
