I love Ferrari, I hate SUV’s, but let’s not kid ourselves: if tall cars with stupid names and weirdly impractical design were the thing back when Enzo was alive, he’d be building and selling them in order to go racing. That’s all that mattered to him. “Purists” don’t like that.
Eh, I kinda like that they didn’t pay some pro builder a million $$$ to make something none of us could ever aspire to.
I must be missing something. What exactly is different about this than a window switch without an auto down/auto up feature? My Hyundai Elantra doesn’t have automatic windows, so I just push “down” and then let go when the window is where I want it, and it stops moving. Is that... all this is...?
This is actually a DIY fix:
Mazda 323 GTX. Transmissions were made of glass and they’re nearly unobtainable these days.
This. There’s actually so many of these on the road, there would be a pretty big market for parts. I’d add MB W123 to the list for similar reasons. Any model with a large and long run would make sense. Dashboards would probably sell like hotcakes, given how many cracked ones I see.
I know there’s already loads of aftermarket places for parts…but it would be pretty bitchin if VW started making parts for their air cooled models again.
Honestly I would love for someone to start building parts for 80's Peugeots like the 504 & 505. So many of those went to junkyards for lack of small consumable parts when their Gallic masters went back across the Atlantic and they are simply fantastic cars that didn’t deserve to fade away.
Because they don’t exist is EXACTLY why they need a parts reproduction program. If one existed, I’d probably be driving a SAAB right now.
anything for the 20-30 year old Toyota. There is a gap between “classic” and older models like this that is completely dry in terms of parts.
Cadillac XLR. I know, not really reasonably priced or even all that great. But it would be scary to own one knowing that burning out a tail light could pretty much total the car.
As a P1 Volvo guy, I always feel bad for my 240/740 buddies as they have tons of trouble finding trim and other (primarily) cosmetic parts. This is due to the fact that with their reliability, finding them in junk yards is hard and there isn’t the tuning/customization scene for them like there are for the 850s and…
Given the increasing interest, the old Ur Quattro/UrS models from Audi could sure use a little support here in the US. Audi has Audi Traditions, which services pretty much everywhere except the US, so the parts, the production capabilities, and the goodwill exist, but the drawbridge is, for some reason, still locked…
Millennials are someone who was a teenager sometime between 2000 and 2010. So basically anybody born between 81 and 96. So at the oldest 40 and the youngest 25.
Same here, turned 30 a few months ago. We’re too old for man. I don’t care about it and don’t feel obligated to care about it. It actually feels kinda good - I would hate to be a teenager now and feel like it’s something I have to use.
