It takes truly insane management brain to think you can just take person with a desk job and put them on an actual production floor and not have it be a monumental disaster.

Got to love all these cars with eleventy-billion horsepower that nobody will ever drive.

I THINK the Karma Revero is still being sold - their website is still active (it’s the official luxury car of the LA Raiders I guess?) - and hoo boy, I can’t think of anything worse.

They’re also loud as hell.  Bring on the battery powered equipment!

What, trying to stem the tide of heating up the planet?

I hate gas-powered maintenance equipment, but this seems like a practical approach. I’m glad it’s not an outright ban, since that would cripple all of the small business landscaping and maintenance companies. It would be economically devastating for the smaller guys, having to replace their entire maintenance fleets

Over 25 hp is exempt.

Im convinced TikTok is a social control experiment. See how easy it is to get people to do things. Like, it does other things so it’s not super obvious, but the end goal is to just get people to do things that are patently stupid and to keep pushing that limit.

Social media platforms themselves are not the problem. Nuke one platform and 3 more will rise in place. If they did a better job of filtering out garbage on the front end, we wouldn’t be here commenting about all these ridiculous “challenges”.

You just have to be in the right circles. My wife works at a school, and the district had to send an email to parents and staff saying please tell your kids to stop stealing things from the school for the “steal something from your classroom and take a picture of it at home” challenge, and also the please stop

I mean, go ahead and laugh at TikTok, but some of these challenges are downright toxic. There’s been one going around for vandalizing your school, and it resulted in several schools in my area getting plastered with racist, homophobic graffiti.

For compacts, I was thinking:

Ford Maverick.

I’m single, no kids, no debt outside mortgage, and live in an uppity neighborhood. I drive a $23k Focus ST and I had to argue with myself to spend the extra $2k over an SE with a manual. Neighbors probably thought I was a contractor until they got used to seeing me. What people who must make less than me waste money

Expensive house + flashy cars + sleep troubled by financial worries

Debt. Mountains of Debt. Until this past year my current boss was my peer and just bought a 600+k house and two Audi’s and combined with other debt is probably close to the -$1M mark. He gets justifiably annoyed when I have two paid off cheap cars, a paid off $200k, and no other debts. I just make different (better) de

I admittedly make more than the average person (but live by myself, so maybe that skews perception a bit), but find the thought of a normal person affording a $400k house and a $40k car on my salary is nauseating. That’s approximately $4000 per month which is…ugh.  There’s got to be some breaking point, I just don’t

It’s a defacto return to feudalism where a few people own all the property.”

Rory Ried had an explainer video for what we’re seeing

You guys are buying new cars?
