I have been very consistent about the time frames. I have been very consistent about needing 2-3 years. The fact that you don’t remember the statements I made up-thread does not negate their existence.

Except that you are making blanket generalizations, which are what I’ve been objecting to this whole time. If you’d contented yourself with saying “studies don’t show that trans women’s advantages in certain running events disappear after time on T blockers”, this would have been a very different conversation. But

Yes.

Science should determine the reasonable length of time. As seen in the study you provided, 2-3 years would seem to be adequate, at least in 2 of the 3 metrics they charted.

That is why I was careful in my words. Clearly one year is insufficient. But the author of that study has explicitly stated that 2-3 years would be adequate. I was very clear on pointing out that your idea that testosterone confers permanent advantages is wrong, and you’ve provided zero evidence to counter that.

Bone density is wildly dependent on a lot of factors, including race, which you would probably be loath to make the basis for discrimination in sport.  Musculature is strongly dependent on testosterone levels, and disappears after a suitably long time on T suppression. This is why I am saying that your comments aren’t

Whatever sex was assigned, if for most of your physical development you’ve had testosterone at a level in line with female ranges - even if it’s at the higher end of the range - there’s unlikely to be an advantage. But for the vast majority of trans athletes that’s not the case.

That person is saying some kinda shitty transphobic stuff, you’re better off dismissing them than responding and bringing them out of the greys.

Testosterone creates the advantage, not puberty. After a sufficient amount of time without T in their system, trans women do not have an advantage.

There have been no studies that show that long-term exposure to male-normal testosterone levels leads to permanent advantage. Most studies show that any advantage in terms of muscle mass disappears after a year, and the studies on athletic advantage that run longer than that have shown that after two or three years

Trying to decide if I should get it-I have the Novavax one, and they straight up told me I won’t get kicked out of the trial if I get another booster-and they’ll probably still give me the Novavax one too.

I wonder if they’ll have a psychic hat that announces to everyone whether you are a Hero, a Bastard, a Nerd, or a Doofus? I hope they retained most of their money for Bastard and Doofus t-shirts, although I bet their students all think they are Heroes.
