Don't go there Laura!

I think you’re great and I hope you don’t take offense to this. I’m not against hunting for meat.

An industry without fucking kites is an industry I want NO part of.

It’s totally not fair. Those kites continue to soar through the heavens, and we’re just stuck here dragging our knuckles on the ground.

That’s not really how it works though. A whisper then goes around that you are “difficult” and the work dries up. You have to be irreplaceable to them and no woman gets to that place because the monster, monster moneymakers are both all about male central characters and making their money based on effects, not the

Yes. Successful women get so much blowback for complaining about the discrepancy because, “What the fuck are you complaining about??? You made a million dollars??????!!!!!!! You have no idea how normal people live!!!! I’m never going to another movie of your’s because you’re horrible and stupid!!!!!”

Now playing

I’ve got Tame Impala on the mind. His latest album is fantastic, and I just cannot get it out of my head. Let it Happen is a particularly good tune:

EDIT: I’m obsessed with Hamilton the Musical right now in the worst/best way possible. My son loves it too. And we move into my vent freak out which is kind of music related because I’m a musical theatre actor? (Honestly I don’t know if I’ll get to post tomorrow night, so here you go)...:

Everyone is focusing on the “kite” bit, for very obvious reasons, but I was very fond of this as well:

A lot of women do buy “men’s” products because they’re cheaper. The point is that marking up the price of “women’s” products shouldn’t be happening at all.

This is excellent. I really love the insane troll logic at work here. “You made this comment! I’m sure of it! Because you’ve made hundreds of comments and I vaguely remember it!”

Honestly even if that was the case (which...doubtful), it was still a magnificent failure in trolling. No one is upset, or yelling at you, or even mildly annoyed. We’re all just laughing. So quit writing inane attempts at being offensive on the internet and get yourself to an open mic.

They do. They do. And think on this: if JLaw and pals are JUST getting bold enough to speak up (mostly due to the Sony hack).. consider how hard and next to impossible it is for a black/Hispanic/Asian woman to speak up, and think of the blow-back she will get? We have to hit critical mass of white actresses speaking

Exactly. And that’s why I cringed a little reading Rooney Mara’s “...I’m just happy to be getting paid at all...” comment.

O NO THE KITES HAVE CLAIMED ANOTHER VICTIM

I’m kind of curious about something. It’s true they still make a lot of money doing it, so what would happen if they just paid the men less? Would they just refuse the work? Would it cause more movies to be made featuring female leads? And why don’t more movies feature female leads if they’re paid less anyway? I’d

These open letters are relying on assholes to identify themselves and decide to stop being assholes.

The whole “you should be happy to be paid at all!” argument is crap. Because that’s the same argument that people use all the way down to bottom tier positions in corporate jobs. It’s a cop-out.

Don’t forget.. this gap being talked about by Jennifer and her pals.. is the white woman gap. White women are at the very tippy top of the crappy wage gap.. but they are at the TOP. Black women, Hispanic, Asian.. not even in the ball park. I just wish that vocal group would mention that as well.

If you don’t blame anyone in particular, then everyone can just shrug and say, “Well, ain’t that a shame. Whoever’s doing that should probably stop. Wink-wink, nudge-nudge, say no more, say no more” and carry on not fucking paying them.

I’ve heard some of the fraternities have major job and political appointment connections so I guess not being chosen can affect more than your ego and dating prospects.
