This has become my weight loss strategy. Go grocery shopping once a week when I’m well fed, and don’t buy any junk. No matter how much I want a chip or frozen coconut greek yogurt bar (soooo good), I will never have the energy to get it unless it’s already in the house. It’s working pretty well.

About the Burlington College issue: I was following their story at the time, and I can’t say I fault her alone for that. It was a tiny school - about 200 students in its prime - with very little room in their budget. They were essentially operating out of a warehouse when she took over, and she “blew” about $10

The UPS guy here does this with admirable creativity. Every package I’ve ordered has been hidden in a new place. At first I found it irritating, but now it’s turned every Amazon Prime order into a hide-and-seek game that I’m starting to enjoy. He’s really good at it.

I don’t have either of those, but I do have an electric Black & Decker that I’ve been using for two years. My yard about 1/4 acre, and I do need two batteries to get through it (I’ll mow at least once a week in the spring, so I don’t drain the battery getting through tall grass). I went with the B&D because I already

My comment was in response to the suggestion that she was raped, and that the boys knew that she was in a fragile state. I don’t believe she could truly give consent. I also don’t believe the boys should be expected to know that. And I definitely don’t believe my opinion has anything to do with what actually happened.

Well, I was a bit confused by all of this, for one:

The very first scene in both the show and the books involved frozen zombies arranging human and horse parts into a spiral. The fantasy aspect was always there, and the Children of the Forest were as well.

I didn’t call anything rape, I don’t believe she was raped, and I have no idea what you’re yelling about here. If you read that entire sentence, you’ll see that I was responding to someone else implying it was rape.

You corrected my out-of-context statement referring to “a boy having sex with her” by saying there were 25.

So he got stuck half way between a human and a piece of wax from a diseased beehive that was left out in the sun? Or was he not going for human?

Ah, but it’s the shape you’d least suspect, isn’t it?

Oh, see there’s the problem. I made it all the way through.

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t say 25. But please feel free to continue filling in all of the details on your own, though, and responding to a partial sentence of my directed reply.

It would be a crime, but one that’s usually dismissed before an argument is even made. Florida, like many states, has a “Romeo and Juliet Law” that applies here:

No, it really is. There are a few professors making that or more, but the median salary is nowhere near that for even full time faculty. I know many tenured faculty teaching 8 courses a year, on top of other responsibilities, making under $40K. It depends on the field and rank, but close to $200K for adjuncts that

That’s not what they were saying at all. Saying kids do stupid things and need guidance to avoid it is not excusing anything.

I understand that, but if it’s a question of who is legally responsible for what, and which crimes were committed, there’s just not enough here to condemn anyone on except for the video. The boys were underage, just like she was. It was stupid, reckless, and gross on their part, I agree, but that’s it. There’s no

Ok, so that would apply to the boys, too. I’m responding to the idea that she couldn’t give consent due to her mental state, and I’m not sure exactly how the boys should have been aware of that.

I don’t think any of this is “ok,” but the point was raised that it’s not possible for her to give her consent because of her history, and that the boys should have known that.

Well, if she did give consent to have sex with 25 boys in a bathroom, it doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility that she was also ok with the camera. Filming this was stupid, but does not indicate rape.
