Pointing out that emulation exists and that Nintendo’s crummy service likely won’t win over the people who have already been emulating these games for years =/= “promoting piracy.”

The reality is emulation exists. And it’s good it does because you really can’t count on any of these companies to properly archive these older games.

What is it with you people. You just think games media should pretend that emulation doesn’t exist?

I didn’t say it was a real solution, only that the claim that there’s no remapping at all is demonstrably false. Most articles talking about how terrible the controls are haven’t mentioned this at all when it’s definitely relevant.

I won’t endorse emulation (not condoning it either), but there are times that it’s clearly obvious that people in the emulation community have put more effort into Nintendo games than Nintendo has.

I’ve heard it’s impossible to raise demons outside of the basement (too far from hell is what most scientists say). I’ve been raising demons pretty successfully in the 3rd floor of my house for years, they seem to do pretty well there. Just my 2 cents.

It’s been a while, I’d honestly forgotten he was working on a new game. I wonder how far along he is, given from recollection he said he started working on it before 1.4. No where in the CEO’s statement did he make reference to weather. But he did mention absenteeism.

This is very well written, well informed, and well sourced. This is a more detailed article about a game series and the complex history around it than anything Kotaku has cranked out in a year and a half.
