I disagree, most western games are pretty bland and boring looking. There are a few crown jewels of course, but most of them are pretty homogeneous. I enjoy them nonetheless. That isn’t to say that there are not some great looking western games I could point to, but for every one good looking western game, there

Technically? Since when has art been judge-able by such standards?

How many news sites would be covering this episode had it been “ok”? In cherry picking those, making it sound much worse than it was, it gets linked to and discussed a lot more than it would have. Conan does this segment occasionally and I rarely see anything about it. This one though has flooded my news feed and I

Its funny to hear Conan complain, but his comments will not make any of the fans (those that buy the game within its first 6 months, which is the profit window for a game) change their mind. It might convince a few that were not really interested in RPGs or Final Fantasy (but got swept up in the hype) to not buy it,

This exactly. Its like watching random parts of the LOTR for 10 minutes and wondering why nothing makes sense. Ou can do this with most action games and shooters, simply because their story is generally an aside, but not with epic scale RPGs.

Russia cares about their own interests, true, but those interests will not be protected globally unless they protect others interests. Its the whole point of joining organizations like this. A good example of this in action is extradition; If Russia wants other countries to hand over Russia’s criminals to them, they

You accepted various agreements that spell out in no uncertain terms what you are entitled to (spoiler: nothing). You did not purchase a Vanilla version of WoW, you purchased access to the WoW service. You have no rights here. That may sound harsh, but thats the reality of software (games) as a service. You pay for

You keep replying so you are obviously getting something out of it. I am not sure what that is, since you seem to have had your fingers in your ears the entire conversation. If something doesn’t agree with exactly what you want to hear, it must be wrong. If those nagging facts get in the way, just name call and be

1. Downloading a copy does not mean you were going to buy the copy, so thats not losing $5 for the chain. Additionally if I bought a used copy, none of that money makes it back up the chain, so thats like stealing too, then?

If you understood how MMO server emulation worked, then you would know that there is zero stealing, copying, pirating, or anything else involved. Never once is an asset stolen, or used without permission.

My example was perfectly accurate. The point was that “taken” does not amount to the same thing as “copied”, its as simple as that. I was not trying to build a scenario that was similar to some specific situation that you want to compare to, I was claiming simply that taken and copied are two separate things.

You may think it works like that, but it doesn’t. They care enough to be part of that system, which means they wish to protect their own IP. The only way thats going to happen is if they enforce protections on other IP. IP is IP. The fact that its a video game, does not change anything. They are either in, or

I don’t think you understand how MMO server emulation works. There is nothing taken. They set up an end point that responds to requests in the same way that the official server would respond (Google vs Oracle proved that this is not theft). That being done, the only thing left is to get the players client (provided

I understand where you are coming from, and believe me, I am just acting as the Devils Advocate right now, but its not as cut and dry as that.

While I agree with the sentiment, taking and copying are two fundamentally different things. When something is taken (stolen) it transfers possession from the original owner to the taker. When something is copied, both the original owner and the taker have it.

They don’t get to pick and choose. As a member of an organization you uphold that organizations laws, or you get kicked out. Its not a “uphold the laws when it suits you” situation.

This was one of the funnest games I played as a kid. I am excited for this release.

This exactly. I play much, much better with a Controller, and hold my own quite well against Keyboard and Mouse players. This myth that Keyboard and Mouse is superior is absurd.

“Allow” without details is pointless. An sports car dealer will allow you to drive away with their Lamborghini, provided you pay them $400,000. What red tape, what costs, what concessions does a developer have to make to take advantage of this? It might not be worth the trade off.

I am not mistaking history, I never claimed it wasnt originally released as just DLC. I wasnt aware of that fact (I know the infamous one wasnt, as well as other stand alones I have seen), but it hardly matters, because it exists as a separate game now, so has every right to be listed as a separate game on a list of
