I sincerly doubt that most devs make nothing directly from it, and since none of the details are public, its all guesswork.

To be fair there are PS2, PS3 and PS4 games that cross play with the PC just fine. FFXI, FFXIV, Portal 2 are some big examples that come to mind. In the case of FFXIV its PS3+PS4+PC cross play. That's Sony (console) + Microsoft (Windows). You would think that it would be easier for Microsoft to provide cross play…
I am surprised it survived. When I stand in line at Starbucks, or really anywhere where people have their phones out, at least 75% of the people with iPhones have shattered screens! I don't understand it because in all the iPhone vs This or That Phone for dropping, the iPhones seem to win every time, yet almost…
Don't worry, Rock Band is far from dead, in fact:
Don't worry, Rock Band is far from dead, in fact:
It also forces developers to shoe horn multiplayer into damn near every game even when it doesnt make any sense, so they tick the multiplayer box.
I have only played Diablo 3, but I can tell you that D3 has a phoned in story that feels like it was written by an intern, coupled with absolutely amazing CG. If you want a game for story, D3 is not it.
...and so their evil plan has worked!
How is this third party exclusivity? Did either company announce an exclusivity agreement? There are many reasons that the game may not launch in Japan on Xbox One (initially) that has nothing to to with Sony. For example, a game makes the vast majority of its money in the first six months of its launch on a…
Is there an exclusive deal? You might assume there is (we all know what assuming does), but there could also be any number of other factors in play. Even if there were an exclusive deal in a market that has historically been dead to the Xbox is not the same as an exclusive deal in a hotly contested market.
To be fair, I think you are looking at it from the wrong angle. I am a huge Sony fan, and I defend the choices they make that I agree with vehemently, but if another company starting making a better product (like Sony did when I was a Nintendo fan) then I would move to that eco system. The thing is, Microsoft has…
Many, many PS3 games fill up the 25 GB disc, and some even fill up the 50 GB dual layer, with actual game content (not DRM measures). MGS IV is a good example, as it was the first PS3 game to require a 50 GB dual layer, because even with serious compression, it could not even come close to fitting on a 25 GB single…
You would be surpirsed, MGS IV uses the full 50 GB dual layer (and was the first PS3 game to go over 25 GB) and thats with full data compression.
An example:
They also don't take into account that many games (even at that point) take up the full 25 GB and some even hit 50 GB on the PS3.
The thing with the PS1 launch was that Sony still had a track record of quality products (even if they were not in the gaming scene) and Nintendo dropped the ball big time on the N64.
The PS3 had the lines it did because sony has a proven track record in the console arena in japan. You often buy a sequel product based on your experience with the previous products.
I dont really agree. I played PoE for quite awhile, and while it does do some things better (the hardcore system, for example) its a game that just drips amature (not bad, just lacking in polish). There are definitely some things D3 could take from PoE, but D3 is by and far the better experience.
They said that for the PS4 and Xbox One, it will be updated with the same patches as the PC, however, for the time being those patches will come a bit later than the PC. Eventually its their plan to have the patches come out on the same day. Patience, its coming.
While I generally have that feeling towards almost all games, the PC version does have a much better UI than the console version.
