Thats the point. There was a comparison with Steam, and you cannot compare with Steam unless you include the time it takes to get (download) the game. I can drive to the local game stop in ~10 minutes, get the game, get home, stick it in, and be playing it before the same game on steam, on my pretty decent

They actually included 300mb+ updates, downloading as they were installing, so not entirely install times. However thats not the point of this. The point is that from purchase to play, is seconds/minutes for the consoles (add a ~30 for the average drive to the store and back), and compare that to the many hours it

I spend hours downloading games on Steam before I can play them. Sometimes its so bad I have to leave the download on overnight, and this is with a decent (though far from amazing) cable internet connection. To be able to play in 30 seconds to 10 minutes (I like 30 seconds better, but both are far superior to any

The free games MS gives with gold are hardly in the same ballpark as the quality (which includes age) and quantity that Sony does so comparing the two is absurd. That being said, good on them for this compensation. Its a far cry better than how they handled the RROD situation.

I have saved a good deal of money getting free PS+ games on my vita and ps3 that I had planned on buying. So this is a very valid point. In fact I play zero games online, I have never had the desire to play multiplayer games, yet I will continue to subscribe to PS+ for it's other perks!

Xbox Live and PS+ are hardly free. New(er) games being offered 'free' is incentive to subscribe. It is the sole reason I subscribe to PS+.

It depends. I know with PS+ you can catch it during sales and get the "Buy 12 months, get 3 free" deals, which would alter the monthly price dramatically. But at sticker price its $49.99 a year. Which is approx. $4.16 a month. I have no idea what the cost, or sales, are for Microsofts service.

MS Had the USA by a good margin last generation, but Sony had the UK. It makes sense then for MS to give a little more incentive to the regions that they want to win over, than those they already have.

a) Giving you 1 character is more of an enhanced demo, then a free game.

Except they are not on top. If you want to just compare PS3/360, the PS3 outsold the 360 worldwide (even with launching a year later). Technically, worldwide (which is what matters in the end) the 360 was the last man in a three man race (The Wii far outsold both).

I feel the same way about Halo, and COD, and, well, a lot of other games that some consider "great".

I have no idea what this picture is supposed to represent. He looks constipated.

Gravity is not a theory, it is a scientific theory, there is a world of difference and you comparing the two is absurd. A scientific theory must be testable and disprovable, and opinion has no place in it.

So if there are a lot of Xbox users trying to blow something up as bigger than it really is, then its a valid complaint because there are "way too many people" bitching about it?

I was agreeing with you more than disagreeing, although it is possible (though highly unlikely) that something in the design of the console is causing this to happen. A slight imbalance in how the drive is mounted in the system, or any number of things that could indirectly cause this.

Analysts? Thats your big argument? Analysts are no better than weather men, they are wrong often enough that you have to take anything they say as "theory", not fact. It also depends on which analysts you listen to as they often disagree. Handhelds are still going strong, they have an uphill battle, sure, but its

I have a feeling that a lot if the PS4 issues were Xbox fans trying to blow it up to something bigger. Its par for the course, just ignore the whiners. Worst case you have to get your system replaced for free, nor exactly the end of the world.

Its hard to ever get an accurate count. The minority tend to be very very loud and like to spout hyperbole so what seems like the end of the world is just a minor thing, affecting a relatively few people. The only time this has ever legitimately escalated was with the RROD.

Its something that can happen to any drive like that at anytime but is almost always because parts wear and fail over time. Happening out the door is likely a manufacturing issue. But as long as it stays in the couple percent range, its fine. If it starts hitting 10...20...etc...then we have a serious issue.
