Take a look at the Fuji lineup. I know it'll hurt as far as lenses go, but the X100 had me on the first click. It's not perfect, but looking at the XPRO-1 I see some serious changes have been made.

Gatekeeper is a "test balloon", they will know how many people will turn it off and how many won't. If the majority doesn't (and I doubt the majority will) they will just make it mandatory.

I get it once a day and would have been willing to pay for the update even but the reviews in the store were all pretty bad.
