I actually worked on this script about 10 years ago, but never finished it.

To me, it's not even a criticism. Dude was 30 and still the coolest guy on the planet. My ass wasn't cool anymore by the time I was 30.
The moment I read his comment I thought, "I hope… and there she is!"
Same here. As far as I'm concerned, the swimming level is the end of that game.
Not that it adds much to the discussion, but I never understood the love for Iron Fist as a kid in the early 90s. Dude was still wearing an open-shirt leisure suit when Nirvana was on the radio. Wha—-?!
She reminds me of a young Linda Ronstadt, so I'm kinda in love with her by default.
Again, disagree. You're looking for some kind of material reward for going on adventures in an adventure game. Obviously there's a place for that - and BotW often does give you small rewards of rupees or whatever for doing side quests - but this game would be much less fun every action needed to come with some…
Agreed. I think all puma attacks should have a point.
I definitely wouldn't wait to play it, especially if you already have some knowledge of the mythology. BotW is definitely its own thing and, while there's some extra resonance for Zelda diehards, it's not worth waiting on this one just to get that.
Yeah, I had this conversation with myself, too - Why do I like collecting here and hate it in Rare N64 games. My conclusion: Well, you actually do stuff with the things you collect. And you can choose to ignore them, if you want.
Yeah, I don't need rupees that badly. I'll go hunt wolves instead.
I've been kind of cycling them out. If I'm going to Death Mountain for something serious, then my flame swords stay at home. That kind of thing.
The framerate drops do exist, but how much do they ultimately matter? That's a subjective question, but I'll tell you the truth - they don't really matter much to me, at the end of the day. Because I don't judge a game on things like that unless its entirely broken (and BotW isn't). You also run the risk of reviewing…
If you think BotW has no world-building or gameplay, you've got no business reviewing games.
Good point, though that's sort of powering you down instead of giving you a specific level-specific power up. Though it's funny to think of how many Shrine puzzles would be broken if Link could still climb. "Fuck you, you ET looking fuck. I'm climbing over your death trap and stealing your spirit orb."
I liked the driving in IV, though I take your point about the openness of V being an advantage. And I definitely preferred all that crazy Eastern European music in IV!
There's some room for improvement, but I'm not sure if it's enough to build a whole new game on. There are definitely some complaints I have about shrine difficulty, voice acting and framerate/pop in (I'm playing on the Wii U, so I don't know how bad this is on the Switch). But I've also been kicking around in my head…
Eh… It's a great game, no doubt. But I lost interest pretty quickly. I preferred IV, which gets knocked a lot harder, mostly because I'm more of an NYC guy than an LA guy and because I was more interested in where Nico's story went.
So you're telling me a game that has been getting tons of perfect scores throughout the games media - media that's often skeptical of Nintendo, I might add - is actually a bad game only riding to glory on Zelda nostalgia?
It's not even really a trick. It's just common sense. No one should be dying halfway through a paraglide. Come on.
