Agree. The Buckley version does next to nothing for me, but Cale's version I believe.

I bought that album on day one and I still don't know what it's like to listen to that album without already knowing it was supposed to be one of the greats. That's how ridiculous the hype was.
Ooh… Strawberry Fields Forever would be a grand choice. I remember hearing it for the first time at about age 13 and it was incredibly creepy - in a good, emotional way.
It's strange. Picard is a more credible captain and in every way a better role model than Kirk. He is an enlightened man, whose masculinity is built on positive, modern values. He's at least a 21st Century man, which is 100 years farther along than Kirk. I grew up watching Picard, so he has my nostalgia vote, too…
At my Texas school the marching band was pretty popular. I wouldn't quite say the cool kids were into it, but the guys who did it were really into it. They did win competitions, though, so it may have been a case of enthusiasm for the success of the band.
Eh, it has its moments. But Achtung Baby and Zooropa felt like coherent statements that could only have been made by U2. Pop felt like the band was just culture chasing. Good songs aside, a band of U2's stature should be better than that.
I disprove your rule, sir.
The final issue of Man-Thing has a great cameo by Chris Claremont, trying to figure out how to end Man-Thing. It's meta before meta was a thing. I really loved it.
Almost all of the discussion in this thread is about the late great Ralph Stanley. Look it over.
Though you could argue that 2016 was the year Death finally decided to not spare him over for another year.
I think it's just that Prince and Bowie (and Lemmy, grandfathered from late 2015), in particular, seemed like guys who'd be around forever. Their deaths were pretty shocking. The others who've passed, while not always expected, were people who were mortal.
I'm a bigger fan of the pre-title segment of The Lion King than I am of the rest of the film.
That demo version of December is nice, but I'm going to go to bat for the version on Maladroit. Yeah, it sacrifices emotion for hard crunch, which Weezer did too often in their mid period. But I love that hard crunch on Maladroit and it's fun to hear it applied to an affecting waltz.
Yeah, Hold Me was always a favorite for me, too. It, Peace, Haunt You Everyday, and the original version of Perfect Situation redeem Make Believe enough for me to not hate it as much as everyone else does. It's lyrically pretty anonymous, but not sonically. And I was always into Weezer for the crunch, first and…
Ouch. I take it back. I hope they hang Depp by his neck from the Hollywood sign.
Everyone in this story has a motive to lie. Everyone in this story could be the one telling the truth. I know nothing about what happened.
I can't believe it's 2016 and we're still having dumbass conversations about sampling.
Well, I'm with you on burning The Breakfast Club at least.
Yes. You win a chance to dopple as an anteater… maybe.
Now that HAS to be the winner.
