I'd say it's more a kind of jolly masochism that gets you to that point. I'm not sure there's a person on earth who actually loves Coleman Francis movies. But expecting the people who watch them to first be silent film buffs is a little unfair.

I would think the musical value of The Shaggs was way more apparent than Wesley Willis ranting over his keyboard's autoplay feature, as much as I love Wesley.

In fairness, the original Universal monster series from the 30's/40's basically does the same thing - a bunch of standalone movies that eventually culminate in a bunch of monster mashup movies.

That's freaking awful. Like the graphic artist hates the movie and wants you to be embarrassed that you own it.
