Yeah, but Carnac is just one bit. It's like judging Letterman's whole career by his Top 10 lists.

Ok. I'll stop defending Johnny Carson on the Internet and go back to my pogs.
I thought it was basically the same show, only a little more Boomer-friendly. I think you could put together a pretty great Best Of DVD from that short run. Well, especially from the last week.
Fantastic! Always been interested in Psychobilly but never made the plunge. Think I will, now.
I'm not Carson's biggest fan or anything, but I totally dispute the word 'hack' being attached to his name. Yes, he was old school, but lots of great stand ups have said they were influenced by him. I've heard the story told many times that it was common advice amongst comedians in the 70s and 80s that, if they wanted…
Yeah, I'm with you. They should get over it. High five.
I dunno. I'll disagree with the "not much else" part. Carson may have been comfort food in some sense, but he was a comedian's comedian, too. I'm not sure I'd say he was edgy, but his show was generally strong and he did heavily inspire a lot of edgier comics, including Letterman and Conan. It was only really under…
Yeah, I agree. I keep seeing all these viral videos from Fallon and quite often it seems like the premise is the same: A celebrity doing something silly that omg you'd never think they'd do but somehow Jimmy talked them into doing it. There are no laughs from me out of that premise. It also reminds me of all those…
Saw Sleater-Kinney. Great live show - scrappy, dynamic, fun and the some of the new songs hit really hard live (Price Cut, Surface Envy). Also bumped into Elijah Wood for like 2 seconds. Said "Oh hey. Cool, man," to him before moving past him to the Port-A-Potties. He smiled at me. So we're basically best friends now.
Roll on, Sleepwalker.
"8 dumbasses, ha ha."

It'll be a sad day when this gentrification means Big Bird's out on the street during the cold winter. I don't know what he'll do. Snuffle up, I guess.
Man, she did have a pretty porny name, now that you mention it.

That Penguin with the iPhone up there? Get used to him. In 5 years, Sesame Street is just gonna be loaded with birds like him.
It'd just take place in front of a Wal-Mart, now. Fred Rogers just pushes around carts (trollies! Hah!) and his trip to the Land of Make Believe is where he imagines he could actually retire one day.
I dunno. There are very few parts of it that I don't like. There are times when I think it's their very best.
I never really understood the appeal of Romeo and Juliet but Wolverine Still Gets All The Good Scenes Because He's Wolverine. There was something not right about it that I just can't put my finger on. Like it was a little unfocused or something.
In keeping with company policy, Legolas can always be shoehorned in. Even at the last minute with great expense.
Watched the last Hobbit movie. Pretty boring.
