I don't care about that level of nuance. As a general proposition, people who act apoplectic at the mention of Peta are meat-eaters. Not all of them, but it's usually the meat eaters who feel guilty and step up to criticize.

That's just the thing, little buddy, they DO get LOTS of things accomplished, in part because they're willing to get in people's faces!

Him reporting that he "heard" from a friend that "others claim" is NOT evidence.

I'm not superior, the meat industry and those who support it are a scourge on our planet that needs to be stopped. That WILL be stopped if we are to survive global warming.

It's working so far! Certainly better than doing nothing and playing nice!

We're meant to combat one of the world's largest, most nefarious industries (an industry that made it against the law for reporters to take jobs in the meat industry in order to report "from the inside") by playing NICE?

You're lucky. Both of my kids have been raised vegetarian since day one, and they're not even trying to LOOK at the meat counter, because of course it's disgusting.

I know 10 people who never wear their seat belts, and none of them have died in a car crash.

Bullshit. People have posted 10 times more than they would have if I hadn't lit this place up, and will now have Peta on their mind all day.

"And in reality, there are a lot of people barely getting by, and if putting a chicken dinner on the table is a cheap—"

And here we come with the silly pro-meat arguments, oh brother. Derp, derp, animals in the wild are the same as the industrial meat complex!

Wrong. Peta's list of successes in the past decade are truly impressive, including the take-down of Sea World and the end of fast-food chains using the cruelest forms of meat farming.

You can eat a fat bone, ese.

Sure, a giant punchbowl of people who unthinkingly parrot the bullshit rhetoric of the meat industry, and are so ignorant they think the animal rights organization is the problem.

Were you equally opposed to gay rights as you are to stopping the meat industry?

When 95% of your population has been duped into eating meat three times a day, and willingly parrots the absurd propaganda of the global meat industry (as you do on this page), playing "nice" gets you no where.

Except that they're fighting for good things, like the liberation of animals and the end of the meat industry, as opposed to, you know, bad shit like the oppression of minorities.

Right, because you're in there with them. Read up—they regularly perform that service for other shelters incapable of doing so, mercy killings for animals that would otherwise be left suffering.

Right, and then you read a little further, thought about it for a second, and realized that of course Peta, like any animal shelter, euthanizes animals for which there's no other viable option. A mercy killing.

"So, killing and eating a lobster is worse than some hippy killing a lobster by trying to save it?"
