The anti-sex brigade thinks he is, though. Which is a problem. And he’s instituted the gag rule internationally and has announced intended domestic policies that would be extremely damaging to reproductive health.

Yep I totally forgot about that scene. Definitely queasy now. Though I think the fact that I didn’t recall that sequence gives further credence to my claim that it isn’t totally Spacey’s film.
Yeah those people don’t seem too responsive.
And, judging by their rhetoric, fame has still not made them happy.
No doubt that it’s a great, memorable scene - or that Spacey is excellent in the film. But overall, when I think of L.A. Confidential I remember the Pearce and Crowe character arcs more vividly. The death scene comes with about 25 minutes left in the movie, too, IIRC.
A lot of people care, actually. We’re trying to get the CEOs at Millennium Studios to wake up.
I think you can hear Queen’s influence in Smashing Pumpkins’ 90's material. Corgan’s guitar style seems heavily indebted to Brian May (and Prince).
Um...gotta disagree.
A lot of Joel’s lines are perfect.
I like a lot of Oliver Stone’s 90's stuff, but man The Doors really is a slog with 2-3 good sequences.
Springsteen is another musician who could possibly have movies made from his songs. In fact, I think there’s at least one movie that is based directly on a Bruce song.
This is a good analysis, IMO.
I sense you’re being sarcastic, but in many ways it really was.
American Beauty - or any film where Spacey plays a character close to likable - is going to be really hard to watch up until he passes.
Yea that bit has definitely aged badly.
But you’re not an empty narcissist filled powered solely by need for attention and fame.
Clearly most people have forgiven him for it.
She goes online like O’Reilly. These people will do anything to get in front of a camera.
This is all great stuff. I’m surprised at you saying it’s his best doc, because “No Direction Home” is pretty dang wonderful.
In this remake, would the person taking the Sarah Jessica Parker role also need to play the character as mentally challenged? Because SJP’s witch character is clearly mentally challenged and no one acknowledges it.
