Bingo.
Bingo.
So you refuse to take responsibility for your actions. I was right about you.
If anything, the revelation that Spacey is a real-deal, remorseless sociopath actually lends further power to his work in something like Se7en. I pulled that one out for Halloween (after skipping it last year due to the revelations about Spacey’s lifestyle) and am glad to say his presence doesn’t destroy the film.
Okay, you clearly aren’t trying to communicate in good faith.
Are you trying to be a troll? No one is attempting to emasculate Singer for crying. The fact that crying is his response to being confronted about his outrageously unprofessional behavior makes him look unstable, manipulative, and narcissistic.
So he’s clearly emotionally (maybe mentally?) unstable, as well as a credibly-accused (many times) sexual predator. It’s like his immoral conduct is feeding off and/or empowering his rapidly deteriorating personality. Hiring this guy is asking for major trouble even beyond the obvious PR hit.
Yep. Extremely disturbing detail.
If he was simply an addict with a spiraling lifestyle, I’d feel sorry for him. But he’s very credibly accused of being a remorseless sexual predator. I can’t feel bad for him - he hurts people as part of his day-to-day life and clearly doesn’t feel the least bit bad about it.
Yeah that resonates.
If there was a Queen song entitled “I Don’t Ever Want to Work with that Director Again,” this cast would probably be big fans.
This isn’t about comedy.
This is a good insight.
Yes, and I had forgotten about that. Still, he was a public figure of some accord. And I associated forcing people to watch you masturbate with social exile flashers and whatnot. Again, the blinders are off.
A good point. I forgot about the time frame.
IMO, he needs to acknowledge his wrongdoing in his stand-up (or in a separate statement). He should discuss concrete steps he’s taking to get help so he doesn’t do this again, and also what he’s doing to raise awareness about and against this type of sexual misconduct. And it would help if reports of good works away…
Actually one complaint is that he isn’t addressing his actions in his current stand-up material.
Yes. Many people feel his career should be over. I’m not totally convinced of that POV, but I don’t think he’s going about his comeback the right way.
I find myself referencing particular sequences from Louie all the time. I don’t approve of him currently, obviously, but that show had a ton of killer material.
No.
I actually wonder if he could get hired at a place like Amazon. He’s confessed to being a sexual harasser. That usually keeps you from getting jobs. Add to that his infamy, and what company would want to bring on the bad PR?
