Winkler’s “then why is he so upset?” is priceless.

Yep. Spielberg casts bad actors in small roles in his major motion pictures. Good logic.
Steven Spielberg doesn’t think Nelson is a slouch, either.
I watched the Larry Sanders episode “Hank’s Sex Tape” last night. Norm has one of the funniest celebrity cameos in the entire series in that episode - “hey, have you seen Hank’s sex tape? Guy’s got a giant cock!”
Oh yeah, that’s definitely a terrible framing on MacDonald’s part. Suggests that he really doesn’t get it.
Not a stretch when you’re mirroring the rhetoric of Jordan Peterson.
One quibble: CK is really not “back.” He did a stand-up performance. In no way is his career on track after said performance. I think we’re at least a year away from him possibly making tentative steps back into regular stints in the public eye.
There’s actually some good stuff in that.
You seem really mad that some parts of culture aren’t so dismissive of women’s words anymore. When there are multiple different people all claiming the same behavior - stretched over a period of years - it’d be pretty dumb to think there wasn’t something amiss in the accused’s conduct.
Yeah she has some good ideas and I think her heart is in the right place.
Due process and rule of law are for courtrooms. Not for deciding how we consider figures in pop culture.
“Honestly, is PC life good? Fuck no. I hate that there are minefields that need navigating.”
He’s been a public figure and comedian for decades. He’s not Seinfeld, but MacDonald is a success in his chosen field.
If that was the extent of what he said, this might be okay. But the context in which Norm placed the “don’t automatically trust people” argument is very problematic (apologies for overused phrase).
He’s one of the funniest people in the world, but Norm MacDonald has always had a reactionary side. Here we get it in full display. I’m disappointed but not necessarily surprised.
A huge part of Norm’s appeal (before this article) is that he’s not the kind of public figure who has handlers to prevent this kind of interview.
The Wedding Singer also holds up.
I also felt that Countdown was underrated in that list.
Yeah he actually did a lot more than that.
Kyle MacLachlan. obviously.
