I think I’m very near the end.

Remedy making a major budget game (published by EPIC of all publishers) that has this level of personal reflection and satire and sheer boldness is what makes them a developer to be protected at all costs.

Sam Lake being such a softly spoken, but passionate creative makes me love the man so much. Putting your face in a video game you made could be the sign of the biggest narcissistic personality ever, but Lake brilliantly makes it a really funny and even emotional joke.

I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t played it or seen it, but that musical number is the greatest, most joyful things I’ve seen in a piece of media in many years. That scene alone single-handedly justified the entire game. The rest of AW2 is pretty great too. It's refreshing how much that made AW1 a kind of

Initially misread Durand as Durant and kind of loved the idea of KD giving a petulant bad guy speech in the style of his Twitter burner accounts.

I don’t know much about how actual lawyers were in those times, but I thought it was kind of how “old timey” lawyers were, overly dramatic to make their points across and loud so everybody in the court can hear them.

And I think Fraser played well with the idea that the character here is a slimy lawyer too, the kind

What we Do In the Shadows is amazing.  I live for Nadja, best character.  Nobody in this show compares, Israel Hands was probably the only one who came close but oh well.  Figures on the show where basically Nobody dies, the one who does is the fun character who feels like an extra from Monkey Island.

Why thank you. Anyone who thinks General History is being honest I dare anyone to read the Life of Anne Bonny chapter. Two thirds are about spoons. No really its a comical misunderstanding concerning spoons that results in a pregnancy, theft allegations, and a lovely Revenge of the Nerds style sexual misunderstanding.

Okay first off, saying General History is the best we got is painfully wrong. Baptism and burial records, newspapers and trial transcripts are the best we got. General History is aggravating in what it lies about, sometimes as minor as changing a ship from 12 tons to 60 tons, to making up whole stories like Captain

No problem I quite love the excuse to discuss my area of expertise.

Okay word to the wise, its best to not use direct quotes from pirates. Most dialogue comes from General History of the Pyrates and since it was written in London in 1724 with at best trial transcript knowledge, its pretty clear any dialogue is fictious. Lows backstory is again, from General History and should probably

Scorcese doesn’t just make movies about Italian gangsters, you know. He’s made movies about such things as the Dalai Lama’s exile from Tibet and about Japanese cryptochristians. He’s a man of the world who is interested in all cultures.

I wish the avclub would have leaned into the bit and have that Ray Greene guy review this.

It’s not just Molly that had money, it was every Osage. Osage County was per capita the wealthiest in America at the time. Like, abandoning cars on the side of the road when they ran out of gas rich. This created insane jealousy among white people. The Osage each had a share of the oil royalties from their land, but

Somehow, this just feels right. Some of the other K-pop collabs have seemed a bit odd, but this hits. Even if Unforgiven is the only song of theirs I’ve actually liked so far, haha.

I can’t even with the Root. They used to publish some of the best writers in the goddamned world and now...

Thinking of writers like Ignatiy, Sean O’Neal, Emily Vanderwyff, etc trying to wrap their heads around an article minimizing the importance of Martin Scorsese...  it just doesn’t compute.

Oh no! Tifa got injured! She’s gonna die instead of Aerith!
