I think the fact that Dickie’s parents had trouble conceiving points to IVF and is a hint towards twins. Ben died on stage and then his twin tried to take his place, but then the twin had second thoughts and “murdered” Ben again by putting his corpse down the elevator shaft.

OMITB made me emotional for the first time ever”

You didn’t get even a little emotional in season one when Nathan Lane put the headphones on his deaf kid and cranked the music?

Streep lived up to her rep this episode, for damn sure. I also liked how the other on-stage actors were allowed to enjoy Steve Martin’s patter song, in character.

I think the MOTW-Mytharc split is the ideal way to handle long-running shows with arcs - it breaks up the monotony, and, more importantly, adds depth to the show’s universe.

While it is absolutely true there aren’t enough good writers to go around (plenty of examples of bad writing if you look) if you are hired as a writer, you absolutely deserve to be paid properly for your work, and not be in fear of being replaced by an AI built on scraping your work, and that is non-negotiable.

As other people have stated, you really have to consider the potential consequences of calling the police on somebody in America. This could have ended in this man losing his life for being an idiot. Thieves are a problem, but is it worth him potentially losing his life over? Could you sleep at night, had it gone that

For retail theft? Literally no one, ever. Why the absolute shit would I get involved in that. Have you seen America recently? I’m not trying to get anyone killed.

The guy that stole the stuff and filmed a ton of him doing crimes is a dumbass, but you also suck. These can both be true at the same time.

if you want to chat with a bunch of old school AVC heads, check out Episodic Medium (https://episodicmedium.substack.com/) run by Myles McNutt. (there’s a ton of former TV Club writers recapping shows there too. the comment section is smaller than AVC in its heyday, but the enthusiasm for talking TV is definitely

I get this argument, I really do, but it gives short-shrift to the simple fact that $70 is no small amount to the average person, who maybe doesn’t want to feel the phantom hand of a publisher reaching into their pocket for more money every ten minutes.

I mean, given that they’ve replaced Peter Dinklage, Jamie Chung, Lauren Cohan, Gina Torres and Nathan Fillion (before getting him back) with none of those changes, I doubt it.

God 2: The Goddening

I’m really digging how they’re using Jimmy, his reactions are gold.

Agreed 100%. We all knew the “mutant paradise” had a ticking clock before a status quo reset. But I have to say, this plot is kind of annoying. Mutants are at the most put together they’ve every been, with all these powered people that could see the future and Orchis still wins? That just feels tired.

Political

Agreed, she was fine, I think she’s more a victim of a lot of people just not wanting a love interest at all. I do think exploring how a girlfriend would fit (or not) into his life could be interesting but there was already so much going on I’m not sure season 2 had enough room to get into that in a satisfying way.

I think it would have been really cool to either have a hospital episode focused on her, letting Carmy come to visit her in the cafeteria; or a whole episode focused on food in a hospital and letting Claire be more visible throughout, to keep it on theme for the series. Idk how you would execute it, but in a more

He’s voiced by an actual 15-year-old. You’re thrown off because you’re used to the Turtles being voice acted by grown men in their 30's.

I’ve read rumblings that Apple and Amazon may side step the AMPTP and make separate deals with the unions which would be fantastic for their services. Then they could get back to work feeding a hungry viewership with little competition, while the rest of the AMPTP fumbles about.
