Why was I thinking it was going to be a period piece of sorts? Like, set in the “real” world? This is actually about “Buzz Lightyear of Star Command?” I mean, looks like a cool animated sci-fi flick so sure. Why not?

Obviously made by folks who love the source material. It’s aping some shots but it has enough new that I’m excited. Cho and Pineda alone are worth the time investment for me right now.
Well, it predates Kill Bill and RPO both by many years. But both are pulling from ‘70s era exploitation films and mixing that with other neo-noir aesthetics. This is a sci-fi show.
If nothing else, I’m a fan of John Cho’s take on Spike (who should always have been mid-30s rather than 27), and I’m willing to follow Daniella Pineda’s take on Faye right off of a cliff. I don’t know if it will feel like a “real show,” but, if it has to happen, I’m more than willing to give what I’ve seen a fair shot.
I hope they don’t “fix” this, though. Dropping it like that rules.
Shea Serrano’s great. I love that guy.
...anyway, can’t wait to play this because whenever that music starts up, i get verklempt.
If this campaign is more Halo 4, which I consider one of the best in the franchise (top two, maybe), and less Halo 5, which was sadly one of the worst...well, I’ll be happy. If it lands somewhere in the middle, I don’t know how I’ll feel. Mulitplayer’s fun, at least.
He, Peter, and Gamora are in a poly relationship.
The best in the galaxy.
I’m buying it day one. I miss linear single-player story experiences. I am sick and tired of “always live/open world/battle royale” bullshit. Give me a well-crafted AAA experience. I’ll do it. I’ll pay for it. And it’s not an FPS? Hot damn.
I miss Rich.
I don’t miss her either. She’s wonderful and talented, but I think 2016-20 sort of gave my fill of her in an SNL context. I’m good. Have her pop up in movies and stuff.
Yeah, I wondered about that, too. I liked Bishop Marx. He always seemed so put-upon by the leads.
RIP, Peter Scolari.
I am craving this film.
Finally caught up on these. The last few were cool and all, but also really bleak/dark. This episode fucking ruled.
They’re usually grown men judging by the voices coming over the Xbox mic.
Do not shoot the birds
I’m never getting my wish that Denis Villeneuve adapt Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door for live-action. Blade Runner 2049 was half-way to being a great Cowboy Bebop movie, as it was. The more serious episodes, anyway. So this will more than do. It’s a completely different vibe to what I was expecting. More exploitation than…
My fix was always just…make it about a different team.
