Downtown Griffy Newms was amazing as Orko. He should be the new go-to for any Orko casting moving forward. Like, he made that character seem like a real person. 

I saw a theory that Wanda died for the same reason that people die in the Crucible: to be reborn as a mutant. I wonder if they’re now trying to bring her back into the mutant fold, somehow? It’d be nice to see her and Pietro back where they belong, especially now that mutant magic is a thing.

Blade Runner Black Out 2022 was the one directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, right? I remember thinking that Blade Runner 2049 felt like the live action Cowboy Bebop movie of my dreams (specifically any Mars-related episodes), and finding out that Villeneuve was a fan of Watanabe was a major lightbulb moment for me.

Oh, no, totally. I didn’t phrase that right. It was a great story, written by someone who like, didn’t have a clue about the characters in the story. So he they treated the Joes like action figures without any regard to history, and it worked. It was fun. Cobra Commander and Cobra were threats. 

Look, Snake-Eyes is a ninja with an uzi. Does it make a minimal amount of sense? Does the action scan? Yeah? Sweet, let’s go. Maybe the sequels will be better. I’m looking for Bumblebee level work, nothing more or less.

G.I. Joe: Resolute was a lot of fun, for being a complete betrayal of the franchise. 

The scene between Andrew S. and Katie at the end there was maybe one of the most romantic things this show has ever produced? Just, smooth as hell on Andrew’s part, and Katie running after him? Beautiful. But made even more so by Andrew wisely choosing to take himself out of the game. If it’s real, then it’ll be real…

Yeah, I guess I’ll just wait until I stumble upon one or the other in store somewhere. Siiiigh.

I mean, considering how much they’ve improved on the source material while still keeping some amount of faithfulness...I think they kind of have earned the benefit of the doubt here.

I get that. Last year, all of these hit dramas and docuseries were coming out, and I just...couldn’t. I couldn’t deal with them. I can’t even listen to True Crime podcasts anymore. I don’t want to wallow in darkness anymore.

It’s not hyperbole to say that I think this is one of my favorite movies of all time? Not everything works, like the stuff at the salon, but the stuff that does work, just works.

The emotional high I felt from a certain scene last season: “he’s here, he’s there, he’s every-fuckin’-where!”

Looks cool. I’m always iffy on shooters based on Japanese IPs. They tend to be a little on the iffy side, balance wise, but this taking from Overwatch is a good sign.
