Walk Hard is an A!!!

Watching it. Holy shit, Maria Balakova stole this film. She’s really, really funny in this, and so damn impressive.

Mark Strong’s one of those actors that I sometimes retroactively realize is in movies I enjoy. Not because he’s not a presence—he’s got a great screen presence—but because I forget that I’m watching an actor and not the character. Like, I’m rarely like, “Oh, Mark Strong’s playing x?” No, he’s just the character. And

Gah, I miss her.

Oh yeah, no, he’s too old now. Even if he were playing an older Nathan, it wouldn’t fit. But man, twenty years ago? He’d have fit the bill better than most. I think Holland will do a good job with the role. Going to miss North’s voice, though.

Now playing

I think of the Nathan Fillion fan-film from a few years back and can’t help but wonder about what might have been. He’s quippy and got the vibe of someone who keeps showing up in places where he doesn’t belong.

Now there’s a mass murderer you can root for.

I kind of figured that a writer like Ryan North wouldn’t do a half-assed job adapting something like Slaughterhouse-Five. Montey’s art alone makes this seem at least worth checking out.

On the one hand, yeah, get what you’re worth, Shonda Rhimes. The exec was obviously being rude. On the other, ehhh. Rich people problems, must be nice, etc.

I’m glad that Lana would bring AJ by to see Archer. I kept thinking how unnecessarily cruel she was being to keep her daughter from him. He obviously cares a lot about AJ! (And Seamus. Where’s Seamus?) But yeah, of course Lana wouldn’t just straight up tell AJ that Archer’s her dad and instead let Robert fill that

Did I need this? No. Am I going to watch it? Yes.

That show was a miracle.

I would give anything to watch a mini-series or show about Ann Dowd and Margo Martindale as rival intelligence agency directors (and neighbors?) working to bring the other down. Do they even make enough Emmys?

I dunno. Dude seems outwardly okay, not worse than any number of celebrities out there. Has he straight up contributed money toward homophobic causes? Tried to convince people to vote for Trump? Do we even know if he’s a conservative?

lmao

I mean, the big thing (beyond their admirable and progressive politics) that AOC and Omar have going for them is their authenticity. I hate hero worship of politicians, but I really, really like them. None of what AOC does feels like blatant pandering. They’re young voters meeting young voters where they are and aren’t

Yes. 100%.

I really liked this episode. I dunno. I don’t have much to say about it. I liked that Robert and Malory getting along and being friends because it’s just so weird. I thought Gabrielle was great, and I do hope she and Lana hang out again. I liked that the mission goes sideways due to something outside of their control.

Do I dislike the PS4 UI? Yes. It’s bad. Do I want more of that? No. Do I like this one? Tentatively, yeah. Maybe it’ll grow on me.

I mean, shit. I’d wear almost all of those shirts.
