Shit, that's cold. I like.

I'll be honest, I don't watch the show (have caught a couple episodes here and there), but I'm happy to see Norm MacDonald and Anthony Jeselnik getting regular paychecks. Two comedians I like.

I beg to differ. Worth it for Colbert's vicious, totally accurate takedown.

BLACK ORCHID. All caps, so you know I'm serious.

Blue Monday. Right up there with early Depeche as far as creating the scene.

I almost mentioned the 1st Ministry album, With Sympathy- it's trying so hard, even attempting a British accent. But despite catchy melodies, loads of keyboards, ridiculous lyrics and a funny hat (see the 'I Wanted To Tell Her' 12"), Alain Jourgensen is still from Chicago.

I wouldn't call any of them synth pop, except maybe The The's "Infected." And some A-Ha (just saw that). All worth listening to though.

Agreed. I'd call 'How To Be A Zillionaire' synth pop, but that's the only one of their albums I'd tag with that label. Also pretty damn good.

I never do this with comments, because we don't get paid, but I will with the article. Kyle: ". . . their only discovering it just now." It's "they're." As in "they are." Their what is discovering?

So two Felixes?

Well shit. Then Blue Devil.

Blue Beetle, please. Ted Kord version.

First thing I thought when I saw 'superhero team-up show.'

You're right. Sub La Ment for Love Cats.

Actually found a copy of 'Happy Families' on vinyl a while back, and I was so excited I forgot to check out the condition before I bought it.
It's badly warped, but dammit, I will UNwarp it.

I loved 'Sun Gangs,' but I haven't heard the latest. Any good?

Agreed. They are unfairly shrugged off as a one-hit wonder. That first album holds up really well.

Trivia that I will excitedly share whether or not anyone wants to hear it: Back when Phil Collins was just the damn good drummer for Peter Gabriel's Genesis, he also appeared on Brian Eno's 'Taking Tiger Mountain' and 'Another Green World,' two amazing records that, okay, maybe only have a tangential relationship with

Avalon seems too grown-up to be synth pop. I can definitely hear the New Romantic sound coming from that and Manifesto.

They had little stretches, though- Love Cats, The Walk, the Upstairs Room. . . okay, they had one little stretch.
