Hi there, this is a letter that you can easily send (or edit and send) to your Congressman/woman and Senator. There are links to how to find their email addresses and it will only take 5 minutes.

That's the thing about making guns illegal. You don't get "probation and then released." You would get a huge fine (I mean thousands and thousands of dollars) if not jail time (minimum 1 year sounds good to me). That is how serious the consequences would have to be.

If you want to honor the memory of these dead children, if you want to respect the wishes of their grieving parents, if you want to make their deaths count for SOMETHING, then the best thing you can do is turn a lot of tears and words into action. Action is what didn't save them.

I second this and add... repeal the 2nd amendment!

I just posted this in response to another comment but I'll post it again here:

Actually there are methods to disarm all citizens including CRIMINALS as well. And with effective results. Australia did it. Yes, after a horrible shooting, they took action. Can you believe it?

This is why Megan's Law exist. People feel that they have the right to know whether they are raising their children next to Humbert Humbert. You wouldn't let your baby daughter run around topless if he was sitting on the porch. You certainly wouldn't leave him alone with her.

Is it nice down there? Because up here in the real world, 10 year old girls are raped nightly by their "husbands." Someone's husband is at this very moment sexually abusing his own daughter. Someone else's husband had a long, hard week and thinks it's his right to shove his dick into his wife as she's falling asleep -

Wow he put into words so much of what has been brewing in my head for the past few days. I was also thinking, in addition to almost all TV show and movie narratives... the very twisted "'persevere' until you get her" idea also seems like it might be connected to the American Dream. Manifest Destiny. Success in America

I was loving the speech and then taken aback by the "weird virgins" comment. Anyone else feel the same? Seemed... untimely given current events...

Agreed! Let's put our words into action and enact change today. If you want to email your senator or congressman, but don't have the time to write a letter, here is an example of a letter you can use. It only takes a minute to copy, paste and send:

If you are sick and tired of gun violence and want to do something about it TODAY, send a letter to your senators and congressman/woman. You can email the letter and it only takes a minute out of your day (must have a U.S. address).

Agreed. This weekend in news has emotionally run me through the gutter. More squee this week please!

The IV shooting, Myrtle Beach and now this - all within the span of days? This is a real epidemic. American culture and all its ills are not changing fast enough. Women have been seen as sexual receptacles obliged to accommodate male testosterone for how many years now? And I don't think anyone has quite recovered

Uhh looking on that wizardchan website (perhaps an unwise choice) and I found this anonymous comment: "lol I'm glad I don't give a fuck about women and pandering to them and I'm also very happy he killed some normalfags though I believe he should have waited until age 30 not age 22 to do what he did. Men have time on

Hi there, fellow former English major here. I had a lot of friends who studied English too, so to get an idea of where they are now, here's what some of them do: teach at the high school or community college level, attend law school, work in library science, work at a museum, attend an MFA program, work at a fashion

And why does every commentor here feel the need to preface each post defending Lena with "Not a fan of her but..." "Don't watch the show but..." "Never liked her but..." WHY?! Is this some kind of disclaimer so that if anyone disagrees with defending Lena, the commentor is protected with the "Well I am not really

Because Damour had already acknowledged in other comments that she is talking about the average American consuming food at the average American supermarket. And you replied to her with your anecdote about how "But I eat organic food in America" as if to refute her entire argument - the argument was never about whether

If she's uninformed, then you're just plain naive. Please at least acknowledge that you are extremely privileged to a) live in an area that has organic options, inner cities don't and b) have a certain income that allows you to CHOOSE the food you buy. Many families don't have a choice. They go to these
